The National Trust property of Felbrigg Hall, along with its expansive 500-acre estate, is also easily accessible from here. The space The Cottage is an enchanting, dog and family-friendly sanctuary nestled in North Norfolk, surrounded by acres of woodland. Located off a private drive, you'll be immersed in the sounds of nature. We are less than 15 minutes by car from the beautiful sandy beaches of Cromer and Sheringham. Tastefully designed to provide deluxe accommodation, The Cottage is perfect for family gatherings, walkers, cyclists, nature lovers, group retreats, or romantic getaways. Our semi-detached holiday cottage uniquely blends cottage charm with contemporary features. Each room has been lovingly furnished, providing a welcoming space for you to relax and unwind. The classic cottage includes three bedrooms, two of which are located on the ground floor with underfloor heating. The ground floor is wheelchair accessible, featuring wide doors and level thresholds. For all lengths of stay, guests will receive household sundries, linens, bath, and hand towels. Here’s a breakdown of what The Cottage offers: Downstairs: Entrance Hall: Kick off your shoes and hang your coats in this spacious area, which also houses a cupboard with the washing machine. Living Area: Relax in comfort on our leather sofas and entertain with all the modern conveniences you could wish for. The wall-mounted smart TV has Now Entertainment, Netflix, and Full Fibre Broadband. Speakers are built into the ceiling and music is accessed via a Bluetooth panel in the living area. Kitchen: The fully equipped fitted kitchen has modern appliances, including an electric oven and hob with extractor fan, dishwasher, fridge freezer, cafetière, microwave oven, kettle, and toaster. Dining Area: Enjoy the beautiful woodland scenery from the dining table with six chairs. Bedroom One: This room features a king-size bed with bedside tables and lamps, a dresser wardrobe, and an ensuite wet room. Bedroom One Ensuite/Wet Room: It has a non-slip floor with a walk-in shower, handrail (no bath), WC, hand wash basin, heated towel rail, and mirror. Bedroom Two: This bedroom has two standard singles, bedside tables with lamps, and a built-in wardrobe. *Please note that while Bedroom 2 is shown in photos with a king configuration, the default setup is x2 singles. Please let us know if you require the king setup upon booking.* Second Principal Bathroom: Relax with an aerated handheld and overhead rainfall shower over a small bath (perfect for young children), WC, hand wash basin, and mirror. Upstairs: Bedroom Three (upstairs): This open-plan space includes two standard singles, an extra lounge area with two comfy armchairs, and a wall-mounted smart TV. There's also a dressing chair, a clothes rail, and two stunning Velux balcony windows that fold out into balconies. *Please note that these windows do not have blinds. There is a Velux window above the beds with a black out roller blind. Also, be aware of sloping ceilings and beams that create restricted height in places.* Outside: The cottage features an outdoor terrace overlooking the grounds, perfect for alfresco dining and relaxing after a busy day exploring the area. Our pet-friendly cottage includes a unique warm outside doggy shower, so you can pamper your furry friends after a fun day at the beach or in the muddy woods. *Please note that there is not a typical style enclosed/fenced garden.* There is designated parking for two cars. A locked shed can be used for storing bicycles; please request use upon booking. The property is suitable for people with restricted walking ability and is wheelchair accessible. *Please note, however, that there is gravel outside and no footpath to the roadside.* Families The cottage is just 10 minutes from Sheringham town centre, with a variety of pubs, restaurants, and shops. Take the children on a magical steam train ride on the North Norfolk Steam Railway, which offers stunning scenic views and travels to the market town of Holt. Holt is fabulous for shopping, with many boutique-style shops and art galleries, and a beautiful country park which is made up of 100 acres of woodland. Fancy a splash in a brand new swimming pool? The Reef Leisure Centre in Sheringham boasts a new 25-metre main pool and a splash pad for everyone to enjoy. The gym is also packed with the latest state-of-the-art equipment, with parking facilities specifically designed to make it more accessible for disabled people. Walkers Enjoy acres and acres of woodland and footpaths right from the end of the driveway. Explore the Felbrigg estate and lake, teeming with wildlife. Walk all the way to Sheringham or explore the coastal paths. Our underfloor heating will help dry those damp shoes overnight, ready for the next day’s exploring. Cyclists With direct access to miles of cycle routes and picturesque scenery, Aylmerton is perfect for amateurs or enthusiasts. Challenge yourself by cycling the busier, hillier routes towards Runton or explore the flatter, quieter routes towards Sustead. You'll have access to a lockable shed, so your bicycles are stored out of the elements. Doggies Furry friends, we have thought of you too! You'll have access to a WARM outside shower, so your owners can wash your paws after you have enjoyed the sights and smells of Felbrigg Estate. You will not get bored, with acres of walks to choose from. You can even chase the waves at the nearby Sheringham beach. Dogs have all year access to certain areas of the beach so no need to be left out. Go shopping with your owners in the dog-friendly town of Holt and get some special tasty snacks from the independent pet boutiques. Accessibility The property is suitable for wheelchair users, with accessible doors at the front entrances and throughout. The downstairs bedroom includes an en-suite bathroom with a wheel-in wet room. The ensuite also includes a shower seat, hospital-grade non-slip flooring, and a grab rail beside the toilet. *Please note, however, that there is gravel outside and no footpath to the roadside.* *A travel cot and highchair are available at the property for guests to use. There is a door at the bottom of the stairs and a fixed stair-gate at the top of the stairs.* Other things to note Here are a few things that might be helpful during your stay: **Hot Water** Our hot water is provided by an eco-friendly air source heat pump, which heats a large capacity cylinder. This system comfortably provides enough hot water for three consecutive showers. If more guests plan to shower, please stagger shower times or shorten showers to allow the cylinder to refill and reheat. **Additional Information** * A travel cot and highchair are available at the property. Please note that the travel cot mattress is the standard one provided by the manufacturer, offering a firm base. We do not provide linens for the travel cot. * The two upstairs Velux balcony windows do not have blinds. Given the rural location, there is minimal street lighting. * BBQs are not permitted on the premises. * There is a door at the bottom of the stairs and a fixed star-gate at the top of the stairs. * Please note that the property does not have a typical enclosed/fenced garden. * The charge rate for the EV charger is 40p per kWh. * We have one EV charger shared with the property next door.
