7Arrows - Cozy Accessible Timber Frame in Freeport
7Arrows - Cozy Accessible Timber Frame in Freeport
Description
A quiet oasis just minutes from L.L. Bean, Wolfe's Neck Park, and Freeport’s shopping and dining, this charming cottage is the perfect family home base for your excursions throughout midcoast Maine. Our first floor features a fully accessible bedroom and bathroom with roll-in shower and built-in shower seat. Upstairs hosts a second bathroom and a huge bedroom overlooking the maple tree shaded lawn. The fully equipped kitchen allows you to stay in and relax, or go hit the beaches or trails. The space We think you'll love this modern but traditional space, that may seem a bit unusual at first. When you first pull in the driveway, it looks like a barn without a house. But those barn doors are just for show. The front door is actually around back, on the secluded covered porch, with rocking chairs waiting for you. Inside, you'll see the traditionally cut and pegged timbers that form the entire structure of the house, weathered and cracked because the frame was seasoned outside before construction. Whitewashed knotty pine boards line the inside walls. Although the style is ancient, the house is just a decade old and has every modern amenity. Tile and hardwood floors throughout make it easy to keep sparkling clean. This home was designed for a powerchair user, so accessibility is built into everything on the first floor. Upstairs, it's a bit like living in a treehouse (but with radiant floor heating). We've done our best to make the space authentically Maine, but you'll also find hints of our travels abroad. Guest access You'll have free reign of the entire 1st and 2nd floors. The basement is locked for storage, and there is one locked storage closet on the 2nd floor. Other things to note We are on a quiet residential street just off the interstate, which is very convenient for travel, but you can hear road noise outside at times. In the morning, the birdsong is louder. Inside, you won't hear a thing. We're excited to welcome you and happy to leave you alone. If it's your first time in the area, we've got great suggestions to help you make the most of your visit. If your itinerary is already full, you won't see us unless you need something, and then we're just a call or text away. Registration Details STRR-2026-75
