Ideally located to take advantage of multiple activities during one stay, in any season, Black Spruce Chalet is close to skiing (downhill and cross-country), fly fishing, ATV and snowmobile trails, hiking the famous High Head and other trails, exploring beautiful waterfalls (3 great ones nearby!), golf (Fox Harb’r Resort, Northumberland Links, Wallace River Golf Course), and so much more. The main house features the main entry way to welcome you and your guests. A small alcove for office or homework is to your right, and the main living space opens up to the left as you enter the main structure. Expansive living and dining areas accommodate large groups but are equally cozy for a smaller party. Hand-picked furniture features cozy arm chairs, bespoke leather couches with authentic Hudson’s Bay Point Blankets, custom built dining table, and chairs draped in New Zealand sheepskin, all centered around an easy-to-use large wood-burning fireplace. The Kitchen is expansive with luxury Fisher & Paykel appliances, 12-foot “leathered” Brazilian-stone island, and plenty of pantry space. Fully equipped with every modern convenience, you’ll look forward to great meals here. A large guest washroom has a bathtub for kids. Each of the twinned master bedrooms are tastefully appointed, including a wall cladded in barn-board reclaimed by hand from a century old barn in Kennetcook, Nova Scotia. Through the walk-in-closet featuring a make-up/work desk and closet organization, the large master baths feature spacious vanities and custom glass showers. The Loft above the kitchen is a gaming escape. Accessed via a solid oak back-lit staircase, you’ll find two couches (one pulls out for a Queen bed), an arcade machine, shuffleboard table and lounge area make this space a great place to enjoy a beverage and challenge your friends! Moving past the foyer to the other side of the house, you find the equipment room. Lined in solid walnut and large slate tile, this room is your preamble to adventure. Drawers, cubbies, shelves and a coat rack neatly accommodate your gear, awaiting its next deployment. The laundry facility is conveniently located off the equipment room. The light-soaked breezeway provides access to the garage, back yard and second-floor living spaces. Up the custom built steel and solid oak open tread vaulted staircase you’ll find a comfortable lounge/ TV room with a large plush velvet couch and a Scandinavian flag-halyard chair you can doze in for hours. Twin bunk rooms are set up each with 3 x double beds and 1 x single bed, complete with bespoke ladders and railings. A custom mid-century vibe bathroom boasts a large glass shower stall and a two-person farmhouse trough sink. Accessed directly from the Breezeway or the main Living Room, the backyard has a large BBQ, lounger and soft seating, a large 10-person hot tub, and a fire pit made from granite stones from Peggy’s Cove, Nova Scotia, surrounded by Adirondack chairs.
