A cozy, green oasis in the heart of the city

Cozy, private bedroom in the heart of Spenard, just a 10-minute drive from the airport. Spenard is a unique part of town with plenty of character to go around. It’s the perfect central location to be close to all the great cafes and restaurants in midtown, just a short drive or bike ride to downtown, a 10-minute drive to the world class single track at Kincaid park, or easily jump on the highway to jet down to Girdwood, Seward or Homer. The space The house is nestled away on a dead-end street, right next door to a quiet, sunny park and connected to the neighborhood trail system along Fish Creek. It’s so peaceful, you sometimes forget you’re in the middle of the city! You’ll get most of the downstairs of my small two-story house to yourself. You get a private bedroom with queen sized bed and TV, a private bathroom, and your own entrance. The living room area is semi-private, but mostly yours to use. There is also a shared washer and dryer. There is no kitchen access, but there is an electric kettle, French press and microwave. (Mini fridge coming soon!) The back yard is complete with raised garden beds, a couple of chickens (which are always fun to watch), a fire pit, and string lights for evening ambience! There are lawn chairs you may use and we can arrange access to space in a large shed for storing or working on gear if needed. I’m in the local produce business so know all the local farmers, the best farmers markets, and the restaurants with the freshest food! If you’re into foraging, I have plenty of guidebooks and can share what wild edibles are in season. I can also point you in the direction of hiking, biking or ski trails. Guest access You’ll have your own designated parking spot in the driveway. There is a grocery store a 10 minute walk away, and several gas stations a few blocks away. There are bus stops a few blocks away. During your stay I don't plan to meet with every guest but will be available by phone or text. If I'm at home and available, I will be happy to chat in person to give recommendations or answer questions. Other things to note I have a two year old dog. He is a very sweet black lab mix named Roscoe. He will not be in your space at all but you may hear him bark from time to time, like when you first enter the house. About 75% of the time I am either working from home or will bring him to work with me, so he won't be at the house by himself very much.
