The Orchard House is located amidst apple orchards in the village of Jalna, Almora district. It was lovingly built to serve as a peaceful retreat, away from the hustle-bustle of city life. The estate is surrounded by Oak/ Pine forests, it is situated 25km from Almora town. It is the perfect getaway for nature lovers, trekkers, families looking to spend some quality time in the midst of nature. The space The house provides a great view of The Himalayas. We provide a wide range of modern amenities to make your stay as comfortable as possible. There are 3 spacious rooms with attached bathrooms, one living room/ common area with a fully equipped kitchenette. The resident caretaker can cook wholesome meals (on prior request). Expect a home, not a Hotel Guest access Car Park- Car goes directly to the property and we have car parking space for upto 3 cars at one time. The last 500 metres upto the property is a dirt road, we can provide assistance in case you are not familiar with hill driving on prior intimation. Other things to note Food- Our caretaker can prepare home cooked food on request. Groceries are to be provided by the guests as per choice or our care taker can bring them for you. Most groceries are available at a distance 2 Km away, and our caretaker will take approx 2-3 hours to bring in the groceries. We recommend our guests to carry groceries with them if possible. Pet policy- We welcome your toilet trained pets at the property. A One time cleaning / pet fee of Rs. 2000 is applicable for hosting guests with pets (If coming with a pet, please inform in advance regarding the pet). Pets are not allowed on the beds / sofas. Driver accomodation- We provide complimentary facilities for accompanying drivers on prior intimation. Activities- The common room has a pool table and a TT table for your entertainment. This room is located below the main house and gives a great view of the Himalayas. A perfect spot to curl with a hot cup of Chai/ coffee and read novels while enjoying the view. The great Oak tree which is more than a 100 years old provides residence to many bird species. It is a great place for bird watching. The caretaker can take you on nature walks and small treks to old temples, picturesque picnic spots, 100+ year old cottages, nearby villages. Our caretaker will also show you around the orchard and if you’re lucky you can pluck and eat fresh organic fruits straight from the source. During the evenings and night you can relax in the balcony and enjoy the view of Almora town which is beautiful when it lights up at night. You can also enjoy the night sky and do some stargazing, some nights you might be lucky enough to see a few shooting stars. Indoor games like carrom, playing cards, uno are also kept for your entertainment in the living room. You can play badminton outside in the grass lawn. A small barbecue grill can be provided on request for your use.
