Tucked away on our peaceful family farm, this private cabin offers tranquility and comfort—while not secluded in the woods, it provides a true countryside experience. The cabin is located on the same property as our farmhouse, Country Suite, and Event Barn. Blinds are provided to enhance your privacy during your stay. Unwind and reconnect with nature at our cozy Country Cabin, nestled on our scenic 100-acre family farm just 10 minutes from Hwy 400. Whether you’re looking for a weekend retreat or a longer escape, this hilltop hideaway offers the peace of the countryside with all the comforts of home. Private Cabin, Shared Grounds The cabin, with its own private entrance, kitchen, bathroom, living room, and patio, along with the immediate outdoor space around it, is exclusively yours during your stay, ensuring your privacy and comfort. The rest of the property—including the lawn and walking trails—is shared with our family, staff and other guests. It’s a peaceful retreat within a friendly and welcoming environment. Peaceful Setting with Beautiful Views Enjoy views of flower gardens, fields, and our historic event barn. Large windows offer natural light and scenes of the farmhouse, Country Suite, and Event Barn—while blinds provide full privacy when you want it. We kindly ask that each guest treats the space with the same care and respect they would their own home. Pet-Friendly (Additional $40 Fee) Please: • Keep dogs on-leash • Use provided towels for muddy paws • Pick up after them Checkout Requirements - Dispose of the garbage, recycling, and compost (please refer to your arrival message for details on where to dispose of each) - Gather all used towels into laundry basket - Wash any used dishes Smoking Policy - No Smoking Indoors! Smoking is permitted outdoors only. Please be respectful and use the black container on the picnic table to dispose of cigarette butts. Kindly do not throw them on the ground — we work hard to keep our space clean and enjoyable for everyone, and your help in maintaining that is truly appreciated. Bring Your Own Food and Ingredients Our Country Cabin features a full kitchen, perfect for preparing anything from a hearty breakfast to a delicious dinner. Please note that we do not stock the kitchen with food items, so feel free to bring along the ingredients you’d like to use. We do not offer prepared meals or breakfast services. Nature & Wildlife You may see bugs such as ladybugs, flies, or even the occasional mouse—we do our best to keep them out, but part of the charm of farm life is sharing space with nature. Summer Reminder: Mosquitos! Please be aware that mosquitoes can be present, especially around the fire pit or while barbecuing. We recommend bringing mosquito repellent and wearing clothing to cover up, particularly during the evening hours. Eco-Friendly Stay We generate 60 KW of solar power and use reclaimed barn wood and sustainable building practices across the farm, making your stay both cozy and kind to the planet. Guest access Free Parking & Getting Here: Our free private parking is located just behind the cabin. Easy access and check-in instructions will be provided before your stay. Fire Pit: Relax in front of the wood fire pit located just steps from your cabin — perfect for cozy evenings under the stars. Firewood, and kindling is available for $12 per bag. Please request in advance to ensure availability during your stay. Walking Trails: Take a peaceful stroll through our beautiful 40-acre bush lot, with trails winding gently through the trees — a perfect way to connect with nature. Please note that the trails are not marked, so it’s best to stay on the visible paths, especially if you’re walking with dogs. Some parts of the bush back onto neighboring properties, so we kindly ask that you remain on the trails and respect our neighbours. Biking: Our quiet, low-traffic area is perfect for cycling, with most nearby roads paved for a smooth and enjoyable ride. Please note: you’ll need to bring your own bikes, as we do not have any available on-site. Winter Wonderland – Ski, Snowshoe & Toboggan! In the winter months, the countryside transforms into a peaceful snowy escape — perfect for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or simply enjoying the crisp air and quiet beauty. There’s even a gentle hill right behind the cabin that’s great for tobogganing! Please bring your own gear for all winter activities, as we do not provide equipment. Family Farm & Event Space Our property includes the family farmhouse and the charming rustic wedding and event barn at Fermanagh Farms. Year-round, the barn hosts weddings, corporate events, and private parties—typically on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. We hold tours for prospective clients throughout the year, usually on weekends. While we do our best to respect your privacy and keep these tours discreet, we may not always provide advance notice. Rest assured, these visits do not disturb your cabin space, though you might see some guests walking around the property during your stay. Location & Nearby Attractions - No On Property Swimming While the Country Cabin is not located near a lake or river and does not offer swimming facilities, there are nearby beaches for guests seeking aquatic recreation: • Centennial Beach in Barrie – approximately 40 minutes away. • Innisfil Beach – approximately 30 minutes away. In addition to the beaches, the Country Cabin is an excellent base for exploring nearby attractions, including: • Canada’s Wonderland – Just 15 minutes away, perfect for families and thrill-seekers. • Palgrave/Caledon Equestrian Park – Located 15 minutes from the cabin, ideal for those visiting with horse trailers. We also offer space and electricity for camper trailers. • North Toronto K9 Centre in King Township and Tamsu Learning near Tottenham – both within a 15-minute drive, great for dog training or learning opportunities.
