The shared lounge with a kitchen also includes a private covered terrace. For bicycles, there is a covered storage facility where the e-bikes can also be charged. The guesthouse "An der Schleuse" is located directly on the Elbe-Lübeck Canal, where the Alte Salzstraße bike path also runs. The Alte Salzstraße cycle path leads from Lüneburg to Lübeck in the footsteps of the historic salt trade route. It connects the two Hanseatic cities and is 115 kilometers long. The Elbe-Lübeck Canal combines the Elbe near Lauenburg with the Trave in Lübeck over a length of about 60 kilometers. Opened in 1900, the canal serves as the link between the Elbe and the Baltic Sea. Today, the Elbe-Lübeck Canal is used by smaller inland waterway vessels to transport bulk goods and for recreational boats.
