Modern, light, calm bungalow, small garden (no pool). Neighbourhood itself it quiet but the side road we're on can be quite noisy. 6 minutes walk to the central square, another minute to the main beach. Included cleanings during your stay! Internet 50Mbs down, 20Mbs up (apt for video conferences etc.) Comfortable open space with interior garden under a retractable roof window, king size bed, fully equipped kitchen, wide doors to a minor outdoor terrace garden. Normally, the place accommodates two. However, there is a sofa, and if need be, we provide a bed for smaller children. Small families are welcome. The bungalow—casita serenidad—is your's alone, including the main space with sleeps, kitchen, living, a small terrace-garden. We live right next door and we happily recommend the most beautiful beaches, our favorite restaurants and we can also advise activities to make your stay a unique experience (e.g. boat trips, surf lessons, Spanish classes, etc.) The area Sited in a calmer residential area off the main road yet no more than a (beautiful) 6 minutes stroll to the village center and another one or two minutes from there to the central beach. We’re on street with some US citizens and some Mexicans around. Down the street is a coffee on one end, an organic food store (no full assortment, lacking in fresh vegetables and fruits—to stock up, consider either conventional local stores, some of which are quite good, or the large supermarkets on your way from PV to Sayulita, and do not hesitate to ask us for details), yoga and pilates studios on the other. Please note that this is not a resort but an actual Mexican village. Noisy vehicles do pass by, a dog sometimes barks, at some point there may be some construction work two lots down the road, and on rare occasions, people party in the neighbourhood (we go try and stop them if that happens). Sayulita was an official bearer of the title “Pueblo Mágico” (Magic Village) when the title was still around—it’s not a resort but a lively Mexican village, a place offering both central beaches and beautiful hidden ones, forests and hills to hike as well as a humming town centre full of surfers, music, residents from all over the place. The central square is 450 meters (less than .3 miles), the central beach 600 meters (less than .4 miles) away. However, the village offers scooter and golfs cart rentals as well as taxis. Busses take you to more distant locations such as the airport or the villages in the vicinity, as well as to Puerto Vallarta. They also take you to overland bus stations. Quiet use only —please note: The house is sited in a usually quiet residential area, and we live in another house on the premise ourselves. Please refrain from loud partying at all times, and respect sleeping hours after 10 o’clock in the evening. Please understand that even shouting and very loud outdoor talking may make it hard for all around to sleep. ——— While the neighbourhood itself is quiet, Sayulita streets can be loud, and our street is no exception. We are far enough from the party locations, but still within Sayulita. Very loud motor vehicles are much in favour amongst both Mexican and ex-pat locals, and we have no way of effectively insulating the Casita from that noise. Their noise isn't constant, in fact there are quiet hours (or, well, half hours), and it usually quiets down around midnight, but If you seek a quiet place with little more than birds to hear, I recommend you look in the outskirts (north side or farther away from the centre). ——— Amenities (in addition to those on the airbnb list) — beach towels — coffee makers, both french presses and actual mokka pots (Italian stovetops) — USB power outlets, two on every night stand and more. Just ask Service We offer free of charge cleaning about every second day at an hour of your convenience (between 10am and 3pm). After beach excursions, hikes or so most guests find that a very pleasant feature. On rare occasions, this may not be possible due to sickness or some other severe cause (we’re not a hotel with a big staff) Wifi Strong and reliable internet access, with some 50 Mbps downstream, 25 Mbps upstream on average (see test results in image section). Even on power outage, access persists for some 30 minutes due do no-break power supply for router and LAN. Water For drinkable water, we have a filtered water tap (dedicated tap (faucet)) in the kitchen. Beds Duvets instead of blankets (and really there hasn’t been anyone yet who didn’t prefer those over a woolen blanket with a sheet). Choose between a king size single duvet for two or two individual duvets each. Privacy Casita Serenidad shares a property with the larger Casa Serenidad, a house for six (which, by the way, you’re welcome to have a look at if you travel in a larger group). Apart from the street entrance, the two houses share no space at all—you’ll be entirely private. (The small outdoor garden you see in the images borders on the larger garden of the Casa Serenidad, (will be) separated by a waist high wall and high growing plants blocking the view—but not all sound of course. We ask guests in both houses not to party and to refrain from making too much noise particularly at night. But of course with six people in a garden with a pool there will be some voices and some noise. If you are looking for total silence, maybe this isn’t the right place for you—and probably the whole of Sayulita isn’t.) The premise is half of a gated property of four houses, the third of which is Casita Los Grillos, and the fourth is where we live ourselves. Needless to say we will never enter uninvitedly unless in cases of an emergency. Accessibility The place is entirely flat inside—its a bungalow with a roll-in shower. However, please note that to access that bungalow, you'll have to climb one flight of stairs. Kids There are no special security measures for children, however, children are precious and most welcome. If you have any special needs regarding them, feel free to ask. Power In summertime (and of late, if rarely, also in winter), village- or part-village wide power outages happen. The rarely last very long and seldom happen over night but they do happen. Sometimes they are related to hurricanes, sometimes not. They can be a nuisance particularly at sleeping hours when its very warm and both air conditioning and fans seize to work. We provide a sheet explaining what to do in case of an outage (and/or hurricane). Insects The house is surrounded by gardens, smaller and larger ones, and sited in tropical jungle, not in a city. If we don’t either pave or poison everything, some critters (ants mainly), are unavoidable, particular during rain season (summer). We do however provide anti-insect spray. Noise Please note that this is not a resort but an actual Mexican village. Occasionally trucks from the 1950s or motor bikes with sawed-off tailpipes come through, and as the bungalow is upstairs but to the street, some noise does get in at day both and at night. Also, at some point there may be some construction work two lots down the road, and on rare occasions, people party in the neighbourhood (we go try and stop them if that happens). As much as I regret it—If you are really noise sensitive, you won’t find peace here. Check-In can in many cases be earlier than 3pm. When previous guests leave the same day as you check in, we may need the time to fully clean the house. In any case you can drop off your luggage ahead of check-in time.
