Nestled in the treetops above Deer Creek, our house features a wrap-around deck with sweeping ridgeline views, and night skies you won’t forget. Privacy abounds with an acre of wooded forest, seasonal creek and boulders surrounding this classic home. Yet, the bustling and eclectic downtown area of Idyllwild is just minutes away. You can even walk to it if you wish! Pets joining you must be added to the booking. We accept up to 2 pets (up to 25 lbs) and there is a prepaid fee that will be added. The space Come connect with nature! The entrance is up one flight of stairs at the front of the house. The interior is comfortable and spacious with an updated kitchen, a light-filled sunroom, vaulted ceilings, and windows soaring up to 2-stories high. The master suite is on the main floor and will enchant you with the warmth and richness of charm reminiscent of Klimt, Wagner and Schiele. Areas include: • 1 main floor master bedroom with a queen bed • Open-concept kitchen and dining room with French doors that open to back deck and additional outdoor seating • Living room with TV, couch, wood stove and reading chair • Sunroom with couch • 1 upstairs loft bedroom with a double bed, desk, electric piano (overlooking living room) • 1 upstairs bedroom with a queen and a twin bed. • 1 main floor bathroom with separate shower and bathtub • 1 upstairs bathroom with combo shower/bathtub Guest access Guest have access to the full house, except for a locked portion of the basement and the locked attic. Other things to note If you are an outdoor enthusiast, the easy access to trails will surely be a plus for you. I’ll be more than happy to assist with ideas and suggestions for hikes and runs in the area if you want. Important information: -We are in a quiet neighborhood and short-term rentals are regulated by the City of Riverside. We want to continue being good neighbors and still operate our cabin, so no parties and no loud noise after 10PM. Also, you must park in the driveway and follow city ordinances. -We are child-friendly but not child-proof. We have many stairs, a hot fireplace (in the winter), and cleaning supplies under the sink. We do not provide cupboard locks and gates. -We have central heat, but do not have central A/C. Idyllwild gets cool at night and we have floor or ceiling fans in each room. In the summer, we additionally have a portable AC unit in the upstairs bedroom to cool this room, which gets afternoon sun. We recommend opening the windows in the evening and closing during hot summer days. - Nature: our property backs onto national forest and is surrounded by trees and rocks and animals. While we most often see blue jays, squirrels, and deer, you may also find the occasional fly or insect on the deck or inside. Finding an insect is not a reason for a refund or cancellation. -We are in a high-risk fire area. Absolutely no smoking, fires, candles, or other forms of open fires. We have 2 fire extinguishers in case of emergency. Barbecuing is not allowed. -We allow well-behaved dogs with reservation (no cats as one of our children has an allergy). - We do not allow extra, unregistered guests or parties. The correct number of guests must be included in your booking, in line with local regulations and Airbnb policy.
