10 Minutes from Baltimore and BWI Airport!

During my many years of hosting, I sometimes have guests who just need "a warm, clean place to sleep", for 1 night. Typically, this is the person who has a super late arrival or super early departure. Those guests usually can't take advantage of a lot of amenities anyway---so why charge you for them? I wouldn't call this a "bare bones" listing, because you will have a comfy room with a tv/dvd. We are 10 minutes from BWI Airport or Amtrak- very convenient for those late/early flights! The space Whether you have just missed your flight, or need to make a flight at the crack of dawn; there are times, when you don't need a lot of bells and whistles. You just want a clean, soft bed in a safe, quiet house. That person is who I had in mind, for this listing. Intentionally, you can only book this for 1 night. Again, this accommodation is strictly for the guest who plans for a very short visit...no kitchen...no coffee maker! This location offers the perfect combination of suburban quiet and extreme convenience. We are in Linthicum, Maryland, a suburb of Baltimore. We are just 10 minutes from BWI-Thurgood Marshall Airport and only 15 minutes from Downtown Baltimore City--including both stadiums and the Convention Center. We are also only 15 minutes away from the Maryland Live Casino and the brand new Horseshoe Casino is 15 minutes in the other direction. We are within walking distance from the light rail, which not only connects you to BWI Airport, but can also get you into the city. **If you plan to walk here from the light rail, PLEASE ASK ME ABOUT THE SHORT CUT! If you are driving, you can easily access I-95 and all of the other major highways in the area. In our guest room, we offer a comfy full- sized bed, a 37" flat-screen tv (equipped with a Fire Stick), a dvd player (with a collection of videos), a small closet and a clock radio. There are power strips on either side of the bed, so you have lots of plugs available for your chargers, laptops, etc. You will be sharing a full bathroom on the second floor, but only with the host. Fresh linens, will of course, be provided. You'll have free wi-fi. You'll be sharing the house with 60-something couple and a cat. The cat is friendly, but she's kept out of your room--unless you let her in ;-) You don't have to be a cat lover; but if you are allergic or afraid of them or mind an occasional late night / early morning meow outside your bedroom door, then this won't be a good fit! There are 3 fast food places and 1 full service restaurant in walking distance. A very large selection of other full service restaurants are but a short drive away. We'll be happy to point you in the right direction, for whatever you're seeking. In the spring, summer and fall, you may chose to spend some time relaxing in our big backyard. There's a stone patio with lawn chairs, surrounded by flowers and trees. Guest access Guests have access to their room and the shared full bathroom (WHICH IS SHARED ONLY WITH THE HOST), and the backyard. The other parts of the house ARE OFF LIMITS--unless discussed in advance. Shelves and the top of the toilet (in the master bath) offer available space for toiletries that you want to leave in the bathroom. Hooks for towels are available in the bathroom as well as your room. During your stay Guest interaction varies greatly with us. Never feel that you have to spend time with us--we won't be offended if you are mostly in your room or out of the house. However, if we're home and you want to chat that's just fine! We've had some wonderful conversations with some of our guests--but it's never forced--sometimes it just clicks! Other things to note The ideal bookings for us come a few weeks to a month in advance. But we can usually accept reservations several months in advance and we've frequently accommodated last minute requests. Bottom line, it never hurts to ask!
