Description

BRING YOUR OWN BEDDING (and camping gear). This adults-only tiny glamping cabin is charmingly basic with an outhouse, wood stove, and solar lights. NO ELECTRICITY, NO WIFI (but decent phone service), no frills, & no room for fussiness. NO BOOKINGS PERMITTED UNTIL YOU READ THE ENTIRE AD & AGREE TO ALL RULES! (Click “Show More” to view the ad.) We will not entertain complaints or refunds from guests who ignore this. Pls double check with us if it's available as it's also rented privately.. The space Due to ongoing disregard for our rules by certain guests, we’ve implemented additional charges as a deterrent. Furthermore, based on repeated negative experiences, we no longer accept guests with lower ratings in cleanliness or following house rules as they have consistently led to avoidable issues. LONG WEEKENDS require a minimum 2-night stay, including both Friday and Saturday nights. CHECK-IN is between 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM. Do not book if you cannot arrive by 9:00 PM. Late arrivals will not be permitted entry and no refunds will be issued (except for the cleaning fee). Self check-in is available only for returning guests. First-time guests must call us when you first turn onto Chilliwack Lake Road so we can meet you at the gate of our Tamihi Meadows Campground. Our phone number will be on the reservation after booking. You must be a minimum of 21 years old to book. Please also list the names of the 2nd guest (if any) in a message. 3rd party bookings not permitted. CLEANING: The $15. cleaning fee only covers a very basic (10 minute cleaning), if you want a better clean done, please let the host know & you can pay the extra for a more thorough cleaning. After you leave you will still be charged for anything requiring more than a 10 minute clean. WHO THIS IS FOR: Our place is meant to be a peaceful retreat — a space to relax in serenity and enjoy the natural sounds of the wilderness & river rapids. It’s important to us that all guests can fully experience this calm, without having to listen to music or raised voices from nearby visitors. This is not the place for heavy drinking, drug use, or loud gatherings. We expect all guests to be mindful and respectful of others. If these values don’t align with what you’re looking for, this may not be the right booking for you. THE CABIN: The bed is beside the 7' wide window looking at the river so you can lie in bed and watch the beautiful sunsets (& there is storage space underneath it). This cabin is a TINY 8 x 12', with a 6 x 12' covered deck. There is a porta potty just across the lane. There isn't any power but there are solar lights (which depend on how much charge they get during the day), & no running water but there is a refillable camp sink inside and a (non-potable) water tap in the campground (which is normally running unless everything is frozen). There is also a small table and 2 chairs, and a comfortable queen size bed & a tiny wood stove (which you can cook on if you'd like). There is also a little portable potty available that you can get from the host with a $25. deposit which will be returned when it is returned cleaned & rinsed out. if you wish to use it or you'd risk a $25. fee. Outside there is a small table & 2 chairs, fire pit and hundreds of solar fairy lights around the deck as well as inside on the ceiling. ***YOU REQUIRE A SHEET TO COVER THE BED & SLEEPING BAGS AS WELL AS YOUR CAMPING SUPPLIES INCLUDING TOILET PAPER, (which can't be left in the porta potty as mice will shred it). *The outhouse is across the lane from the cabin & must be kept locked & the key is in your cabin. It is only shared with the other cabin beside it. The outhouse smells like an outhouse (not a porta potty)! DO NOT BOOK IF THIS IS A PROBLEM FOR YOU! There is an indoor porta potty that you can get from the camp host with a $25. fee that is refunded when you bring it back clean. *There is non-potable water in the campground. PICTURES: You'd need to click on the "Show All Photos" on the main picture to see the rest of the pictures. *Please note, the inside pictures make it look much bigger than it is! ABOUT US: Our private, 33+ acre, picturesque, tranquil farm property is situated in the Tamihi Recreational Area just south of Chilliwack, BC. 3 sides of the property are heavily forested with the Chilliwack River bordering the 4th. It's 20 minutes from Sardis. The cabin is located in a quiet area of our Tamihi Meadows campground, There is the back of another cabin on one side (on the other side of some bushes), as well as one across the road. GATE HOURS are 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM. PLEASE RESPECT THE HOST'S TIME OFF, HE IS ON DUTY FROM 8:00 AM - 8:00PM! Please do not disturb him before or after these times unless a dire emergency! No construction wood & no taking wood including deadfall from our property. Firewood is only available between 9:00 AM & 8:00 PM (only). If you are coming in at 9, you can ask in advance to have wood left out for you.    Only paper & wood to be burnt in the fireplace or fire pit. *You only need a VERY TINY fire in the cabin to avoid cooking yourself out! SMOKING is permitted outside only. Please ensure that smoke does not enter the cabin, and all cigarette butts must be properly disposed of—do not throw them on the ground or leave them in the fire pits. A minimum $50 fee will be charged if the cabin smells of cigarette or drug smoke. GARBAGE is pack it in, pack it out, although we do accept sorted (clean) recyclables in separate bags, (bottles and cans, soft plastics, hard plastics, jars and metal). If no fire ban, you are welcome to burn paper products. ***Unfortunately, some individuals have disposed of trash in the porta potty. Please note that if this occurs, a $100 fee will be charged to cover the cost of cleaning and removal. We have a trail cam monitoring the road outside, but it is only accessed when evidence is required. HORSES: Our gentle and calm horses have free range of the property. ANY INTERACTION WITH THE HORSES IS AT YOUR OWN RISK! People are not to be mauling or slapping them, they could also step on your foot or bite your fingers if you are giving them a carrot etc. Use a container if you wish to give them a treat. APPLES NEED TO BE CUT TO AVOID THEM CHOKING & NO SUGAR PLEASE! WHO THIS IS SUITABLE FOR: This is for quiet, nature lovers only that will leave our pristine wilderness exactly as they found it! Failure to comply will result in a $25 charge per unauthorized guest, and the guest(s) will be required to leave immediately. PETS: We welcome quiet, well-mannered pets that are recently bathed. They must be added to your reservation in advance. If not, the pet fee is doubled. To ensure a pleasant experience for all, please follow these rules: • They must always be on a leash. A $25 fee will be charged each time they are seen off-leash. • They are not allowed on the furniture. A minimum $25 cleaning fee will apply if evidence of pets on furniture is found. • They must never be left unattended at the cabin or allowed to dig holes. • All waste must be picked up immediately. Please note: If your dog is particularly sensitive to foot traffic, Cabin 2 (The Fish N Chicks) is the most suitable for your stay. OCCUPANCY: 2 adults - we don't allow anyone under 21 there. ATV'S: LICENSED VEHICLES ONLY.. IDLE IN & IDLE OUT ONLY, NO REVVING OF ENGINES! PHONE SERVICE: Most have no problem. There is a cell phone signal booster in the covered picnic shelter, (above the stairs to the beach) if there is any issue. You can take a sponge bath using the foot powered sink. In the summer you can swim in the river, the water is very clean (but cold)! PARROT SHOW: I often do a show in the campground on busier, warm weekends with my Amazon parrot that does a cute performance to entertain the kids (& adults). DISRUPTIVE GUESTS: People causing too much noise or disturbances or otherwise not following the guidelines will be warned first, but in severe instances, you could be asked to leave immediately (without refund). There are trail cams on the property to identify vandals & people that litter. They are pointed at public areas only & as they are difficult to access, they are only viewed when proof is required for a claim. Guest access You have access to the campground area & beach. You are not permitted in the other cabin area where the older cabins are. No entry into unoccupied campsites. Other things to note Some people have been getting drinking water from the waterfall/creek 3 blocks before our gate for years, but I'm not allowed to say it's good water so I won't. Don't complain or ask for money back afterwards if you ignore the following requirements. **PLEASE NOTIFY US IMMEDIATELY IF THERE ARE ANY PROBLEMS OR THE CABIN OR OUTHOUSE APPEARS NOT CLEANED OR THERE IS DAMAGE (not already listed) to avoid extra charges as everyone says "It wasn't us"!! GATE HOURS are 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM. (No check-in after 9:00PM) CAMERAS: There are trail cams on the property to identify vandals & people that litter. They are pointed at public areas only & as they are difficult to access, they are only viewed when proof is required for a claim. Registration Details Provincial registration number: Exempt
