Enjoy a soak in our mineral hot tub while the Taos skies paint a canvas of rich purple, orange, blue, or pink. Perfect space to retreat to after a day of hiking, rafting, or skiing. The space Your spacious casita has a bedroom with on-suite bath, kitchen, living room, porch, hot tub, and front yard. Both the bedroom and living room have traditional wood-burning adobe fireplaces. This is a very historic home, built in the early 1900s, and the living room adobe fireplace was made by an incredible local artist, Carmen Velarde, one of the last traditional enjarradoras in the country until she passed in January 2022. Her work has been exhibited all over the US, and no two of her fireplaces are alike. The space was recently updated, so it’s the perfect mix of history, exposed Viga beams, traditional adobe walls and tile floors with the comforts you’ll crave after a day of exploration. Get cozy in the massive comfy reading nook while enjoying the breathtaking view of the Sangre de Cristo Range. Relax on the porch with a snack and some wine from the local vineyards while the sun paints the sky aglow with color in the evening hours. Soak in our hot tub filled with a hot spring mineral mix that soothes sore muscles. Please do note that cell service is not great in the casita and sometimes you’ll have to walk to the gate to be able to take calls. However, we have great internet so as long as you’re on wifi you’ll be able to use your phone. Guest access There are two separate one-bedroom Casitas on our property, which are connected by a storage room that is not accessible to Airbnb guests. Both Casitas have their own private driveways on opposite sides of the property, and the yards are also completely separate on opposite sides. You'll have plenty of privacy and won't even notice anyone else is on the property most of the time. Other things to note Although we do not have air conditioning, the casita remains cool throughout even hot days. Adobe is a material that has been used for centuries due to its ability to naturally regulate temperature, retaining the cool air from the night during the day and the warm air from the day during the night, creating the perfect temperature inside the casita at all times. Taos is located on a high plateau, and our casita is at around 8000 feet. Please keep this in mind when you book.
