Ladysummer, a lovely off-grid yurt under the stars

Welcome to Pines Bay Acres! Ladysummer is nestled in a small meadow surrounded by trees near Shelburne Harbour, Nova Scotia. Walking distance to the historic town of Shelburne and the Islands Park. Short drive to the beaches and Sandy Point Lighthouse. Perfect area for long walks and bike rides on the trail. Enjoy the bay renting our double kayaks. The site features 12V electricity, dishes, BBQ, double burners, cooler, drinking water in Jerry cans, but NO shower or wifi. The space Once parked in the allocated space, you'll walk thru a cute short path in the woods to reach Wintergreen. -Bedding : Ladysummer has two bunk beds (double at the bottom and twin at the top) which allows up to 6 persons to sleep comfortably. Sheets, pillows, quilt and additional blankets are provided. -Meals : Inside the yurt, a kitchenette with dishes, pans and pots as well as some dishcloth and rags. You will also be given some spices, instant coffee, tea and herbal tea to make your meals more interesting. A big cooler will keep your food fresh. The solid wooden table just under the dome can seat up to 6 persons (4 chairs and a bench) and will benefit from the soft natural sunlight. Three 20L containers of water will provide you with well enough water for all of your uses (dishes, washing hands, drinking...). For the perfect twilight family grill, you will have access to the BBQ and a big picnic table. -Toilet : a private compost toilet and access to a small hand washing station are offered to you. -Relaxation: Better disconnect from the turmoil of life through a nice stove fire, unless you would rather lay down in a hammock with you favorite book. Extra wood may be purchased if desired. **Note that a common firepit has been installed by the waterfront instead of individual firepits on site for safety reasons** -Activities: Have your pick between kilometers of CNR path passing through our forest, also leading to the historic town of Shelburne if you want to access it by foot or bike and head over for fa museum, restaurant or many other possibilities to satisfy your curiosity. If you prefer, you may also rent one of our three tandem kayaks and go explore Shelburne Harbour. If you are more inclined to stay at the site and enjoy the calm, you may also elect to use some of the available board games with your family or friends. We are also slowly developing great farm products like organically grown fine herbs and fresh eggs from our free run hens, do not hesitate to ask for these. If the yurt is not available for your selected dates, check our other yurt on Airbnb. It is identical, except it is green. Guest access Ladysummer Yurt is a private site for your exclusive use, including the composting privies. Parking, water access and paths are common areas shared with other guests . Other things to note We remind you that Ladysummer Yurt is off grid, and has no running water. Fresh water will be provided through Jerry cans for your everyday needs. Use wisely as water is a precious resource. ***Pets are not allowed but you can contact us to talk about it.*** There is a 12 volt circuit with solar panel to supply some lighting both in the yurt and in the toilets, but there are no power sockets. There is no wifi, but there is good cell network reception. For security reasons, we decided not to allow outdoor fire at the campsite, so we installed a common fire pit in a safer area on the waterfront so you'll enjoy the campfire and the view. Available to all guests. You can't see the bay from the yurt. You'll have to walk a few meters to admire the view. We rent our double kayaks for your stay, more info on our website.
