Oberlin/Amherst Area Room in Quiet Country Home
Ground floor queen bedroom and family room on Organic Blueberry Farm (berries on bushes during month of July). Overlooks the Chance Creek. Private entrance walks through common living space, but you will have the downstairs to yourselves and come/go without or without contact. We have dogs and cats but they are kept out of this room. Great hiking and biking opportunities out the door. Other spaces on property have prior reviews see guest interaction below -- It's the downstairs of our house. There is shared space downstairs and a laundry room, but we leave guests to themselves. If you have an extra guest we can set up an additional sleeping space for a child or extra guest. Parking in front of house. Easy walk to guest space, stairs required to exit/enter. Richard (Bo) and his lovely wife were perfect hosts. Very solid, good people who never made this feel like a business arrangement. We were welcome guests in their beautiful home. I only wish the blueberries had been growing so we could have picked some ( a month too early!). Arlo the dog and Savannah the cat made to visit that much more enjoyable. Best wishes to our gracious hosts. We would stay again, for sure, for sure. Fred, Palo Alto CA I loved my stay !! I relaxed and exercised. Bicycling the backroads of Ohio and visiting the local villages of Amherst and Oberlin. The host and family are wonderful, kind, and great company. Michael, Quincy, CA My daughter and I were visiting Oberlin for the “All Roads” event for admitted students. The accommodations were perfect in every way. It was a short drive to the college. The house is very quaint on a huge plot of land. The two rooms are large and upstairs from the main part of the house. The master bedroom has views of the surrounding farm. I imagine in spring and summer everything is lush and green—it was still wintry (although early spring) when we were there so the trees hadn’t bloomed yet. Richard and Linda were incredibly gracious and always had hot coffee brewed in the morning. There are lovely hiking trails along the river just steps from the house. If the lack of gym facilities is a problem for you, there is a Planet Fitness about 5 minutes away and you can join as a guests for 6$ a week. Richard even had great tips for my daughter about Oberlin College. I imagine I’ll stay again since she is starting college there in August. read less Katie, Orinda, CA I work at Oberlin college so can give you info as needed
