Cabin 1: Horses & Hot Tubs on Perry Lake

This is one of 4 guest cabins on the property. We are an adults-only venue except for special Family Weeks. Please inquire about our kid-friendly dates. You'll be visiting the High Line cabin at Stillwater Stays. This upcycled shipping container is cantilevered above an old-growth forest and perched 70’ above Perry Lake. Finished in 2022, the premium interior feels fresh and modern. Guests enjoy lake access, encounters with horses, bird watching, and acres of hiking trails. The space Brand new in 2022, your cabin is cleverly designed and stocked with goodies like heated towel bars, quartz countertops, and fast WiFi. Huge, fixed windows make it feel light and modern (but don’t worry… there are shades in case you need a break from all that nature!). Around you are a mix of open horse pastures, densely wooded trails, and a natural lakefront. This cabin is nearby other units but has been carefully placed to offer a private, 360-degree view of the surrounding wilderness. Guest access Beyond your cabin and private hot tub, you'll find horse paddocks and hiking trails that loop throughout the property and down to the lake and our dock. You are welcome to approach the horses along the fence line. If they mosey over for a greeting, feel free to pet them. Just mind the electric wire that runs inside of the top board and no treats or feeding, please. The trails that you see are part of our property and are yours to enjoy. During the warmer months, you might find a paddleboat tied to the dock. You may take that out for a spin around Perry Lake - just remember to grab a few life jackets from the deck box. The horses are in their stalls each morning and night during feed routines and sometimes during the day. Just message us if you want to stop by the stables to check things out! Other things to note Your cabin is tucked into the woods! It gets dark and the footing can be tricky so please try to check in during daylight hours. If this is not possible, let us know and we will assist you. We don't offer horseback riding here at Stillwater, but we do welcome all of our guests to join us in the barn for our Ground & Groom experience. Ground & Groom is a hands-on activity that can include participating in feed routines, grooming, or helping out with moving and leading the horses. It all depends on your confidence level, interest, and of course the weather! Ground & Groom is a guest favorite because it's photo-friendly, safe, and free with every cabin reservation. The timing is flexible. Just message us to make a reservation the day before you’d like to participate.
