JCO Campground at Lee Baysden Pond hosts camping and glamping guests within our A-frame cabin situated within the trees on the banks of 26 acre, Lee Baysden Pond.. Try your hand at fishing with the included Canoe or casually off the banks. Enjoy relaxing in nature by a cozy campfire. Let the sounds of frogs and crickets lull you to sleep as you relax and unplug. Shared 80 acre space with other campers. Note: Linens not included. Not secluded but spacious. The space The Glamping experience features inside 1 Queen bed, mini refrigerator, microwave, AC, electric heat and gas heat for extreme winter temps, warm lighting and electricity, roasting sticks, board games, and 2 Adirondack chairs that can be used inside or out. Outside features a firepit with grill cooking grill grate, charcoal grill, front porch, trees perfectly spaced for hammock hanging (now included hammock and stand), private outdoor hot water shower (freezing temps it must be shut off which we handle), and outhouse/porta Jon. Free Fishing passes to the lake with canoe to paddle out on the lake. Easy water access close to site for fishing, relaxing or taking the boat out. Decorated for Christmas mid-November through New Years. We have a local tourism guide as well. Use our guest book and information guide inside the cabin and is sent to every guest at booking. Exclusive add-on extras available with our cabins for special occasions or just because. Firewood bundles, fishing worms, charcuterie boxes, smores boxes, chocolate covered strawberries and more can be added on. You may be visited by our campground kitty. Shes been with us since spring 2023 and loves to visit campers and the A-frame guests. If welcomed. Her name is "Tail" named by our young son Beckham. This is a family friendly venue catering to the nature enthusiasts. The Property consists of 2 cabins The A-frame and the Floating Cabin, 10 RV sites on main side, and 12 tent sites on the other side. Property is shared by other camping or glamping guests. Cabin is not secluded and near RVs but has a view of lake. You may see wildlife! We have various ducks, geese, turkey, deer, owls, heron, osprey, beavers, otters, nutria, and more. No Known alligators but it is possible. You are camping on an Eastern NC lake. Be prepared there may be bugs, mosquitos, turtles, frogs, and occasionally see snakes. This is their ecosystem. The lake is mostly 3-6 feet deep however the trench through the middle and some pockets may be 11-14 ft deep. We do not have a swim beach, and it is a muddy bottom. Swimming is at your own risk. The lake has many varieties of fish from bass, crappie, catfish, and more. Note: Mentioned in a Review we are in a rural farming community as well. You may hear cows or a donkey from a neighboring property (down the street) and occasional gunshots (hunting season) Not on our property but nearby. These sounds are completely out of our control. On our property you may see/hear waterfowl, turkey, owls, heron, eagle, osprey, beaver, nutria, otters, deer, with rare sightings of big cat or bear (possibility of passing through). Wildlife on the water may also include bugs, snakes, and turtles. You may also hear every Saturday at noon the Volunteer Fire Dept Sirens. They also sound for fire calls. Not a tornado or flood warning if you hear the sound. Guest access Guests have access to the whole cabin and property. Maps sent at booking plus within the guest book binder. Currently you can walk the trail from the Aframe Cabin to the last tent campsite and its 1.5 miles there and back. Lake is 22 acres, creek and swamp fed. Other things to note Events: 2026 Valentines Decor for February April 10th-12th Trail Life Southeast Junction (huge Scouts group) Please bring your own bedding, towels, camping cooking supplies, charcoal, and paper dishware. No Cookware provided this is a glamping cabin. Several options nearby for sandwiches, take out or grill your food. No indoor bathroom. This cabin has an outdoor hot water shower and porta jon currently. We have a Lake Cat named Tail. She is a tabby and adopted us in Spring 2023. Lots of Wildlife may be seen from ducks, geese, turkey, heron, osprey, owls, deer, squirrels, rabbits, beaver, otters, nutria, and more. Be cautious with any wildlife. No known alligators in the waters however it is always a possibility. You are on the water in Eastern NC there may be bugs, (especially if you leave lights on and leave doors open to cabin), there could be snakes, turtles, and other wildlife surrounding the lake and property. We do try to keep bug spray (mosquito) stocked in the cabin if needed for outdoor uses. The Lake depths are 3-6ft deep with the trench and some holes measuring up to 11-14ft deep. It is muddy bottom lake, and we do not have a swim beach however swimming is at your own risk. The Lake has various fish species from Bass, Crappie, catfish, bowfin, bream, warmouth, shellcracker, gold shiners and so much more. Crawfish, frogs, turtles are all part of the ecosystem here. The local fire department is just up the road. If you hear sirens its not tornado or flood sirens. It is just normal fire call. They also sound off every Saturday at 12 noon. If you are looking a less busy stay inquire for a weekday and we can check the schedule. However we are a campground with last minute bookings.
