The Casa della Bifora is part of a small hotel spread over several locations (La Torre del Cornone). You will find us in the historic center of the village of Fontecchio (AQ), just a 5-minute walk from the main square of the village. Fontecchio is a medieval village, located in the heart of the Sirente Velino Park. This typical complex of ancient buildings is located in the southern corner of the town walls, with spectacular views of the green and quiet valley of the Aterno River. The space The house, entirely at your disposal, is a large apartment on one floor that is accessed by a flight of stairs. You will find a large living room with an equipped kitchenette, with two double or twin bedrooms. Each room has its own private bathroom. The house has simple furnishings typical of the peasant culture of this area. In the renovation of the building, an attempt was made to preserve the original atmosphere, respecting the layout of the spaces, the ancient stairs, the vaulted or exposed wooden ceilings. The original materials were reused as much as possible: the antique brick floors, the stones of the hearths, the wood of the doors. From every room, a beautiful view of the valley. Guest access A stone's throw away, shared with other guests, is a panoramic garden with armchairs, a large table and a brick seat under the "Malvasia Aquilana" pergola. Directly from the house, through the Porta da Piedi path, you can reach the valley where the Aterno river flows or you can climb to the Pagliare. The house is located along the Cammino di San Tommaso (Rome-Ortona) and along that of Calestino V (Sulmona-L'Aquila). From here you can set off to visit the many villages, to reach the paths of the highest mountains of the Gran Sasso, Monte Sirente and Maiella Madre. A few minutes away, Lake Sinizzo, and the caves of Stiffe. Nearby is the Campo Imperatore plateau with Rocca di Calascio and Santo Stefano di Sessanio, the cities of L'Aquila and Sulmona.
