Peaceful Cotswold Retreat – Walks from the Door
Peaceful Cotswold Retreat – Walks from the Door
Description
A peaceful countryside retreat right on the Cotswold Way — ideal for walkers, solo travellers, or anyone looking to slow down and unwind. Step straight out of the door into beautiful valley walks, then return to a warm, cosy cottage with a log fire in the evening. The space This 200-year-old Cotswold stone cottage is tucked among the trees in Ruscombe, offering a calm and characterful base for exploring the surrounding countryside. With sweeping views across the Stroud valleys and footpaths in every direction, it’s a place to switch off, breathe out, and enjoy a slower pace of life. Guests often stay here for: Walking the Cotswold Way straight from the door A quiet, creative or restful break Time in nature away from busy towns This is a welcoming, lived-in home that I share with guests. You’re welcome to relax in the living room with the log burner, use the fully equipped kitchen, and enjoy the dining room and outdoor seating areas. The room itself is spacious and comfortable, with a king-sized bed, storage space, and views across the valley. Downstairs, the living room has a log burner for colder days, and there’s a sunny patio out front when the weather’s good. The main bathroom is shared, and is kept clean and available — guests rarely need to wait. There’s also a separate downstairs loo. WiFi is available throughout. Guest access You’ll have access to the kitchen, dining room, living room (with log burner), bathrooms, and garden — plenty of space to relax, cook, or unwind after a day out. Guests often comment that the house feels relaxed and homely, with space for privacy as well as the option for a chat if you’d like one. During your stay This is my home and I love sharing it, but guests often say it feels private and easy-going. I’m usually around if you need anything, but equally happy to give you space. The aim is for you to feel comfortable, at ease, and able to settle in as if it were your own place. Other things to note Bring slippers — we’re a “shoes off” house. The area is perfect for walking, and the house is set up for muddy adventures, with an outdoor hose and space to dry boots and coats after a day out. Well-behaved dogs (and their owners) are very welcome. I just ask that dogs stay off the beds and that muddy gear is cleaned before coming upstairs — everything you need is provided, including towels for paws.
