The space This restored house from the 1830s also has its original furniture from the time, so in addition to being a historical room, its furniture is an original antique piece. For this reason, we ask to all our guests to value these antique pieces and be careful and take care of them. This house originally the 'The Butler's House'. Has 2 bed rooms with full beds, wardrobe and private bathroom. The antique fridge works, but is not allow to use the stove to prevent accidents. 3er common bathroom in the hall and balcony overlooking the farm. Brief History of Hacienda Lealtad: Hacienda Lealtad is a historic coffee plantation in barrio La Torre, Lares, Puerto Rico. A large hacienda, it was founded in 1830, by Juan Bautista Plumey, a French immigrant, who arrived in Puerto Rico with enslaved people. It would become the largest coffee plantation in Lares, with over thirty slaves and hundreds of day laborers working the coffee farm. For many years the plantation was a large producer and exporter of coffee. After the restoration the Hacienda operate as a hotel, coffee shop and a living museum recreating the historical setting of the height of coffee production in Puerto Rico. Coffee growing in Puerto Rico has seen a resurgence and Hacienda Lealtad produces coffee under the brand Café Lealtad. The Café Bistro Hacienda Lealtad on Puerto Rico Highway 128 kilometer 55.8, is where groups meet for the start of their tour of the 19th century coffee plantation. And the rest of the story will be told and more antiques to see in your stay with us. Guest access In addition to the room, our guests have access to the entire hacienda. 'La Casona' (the main big house), is an exhibition house with beautiful antiques full of history. The Chapel, Restaurant (soon to be open), and also access to the River. For reservations during the weekends, the 2 hour historical tour about the Hacienda and our coffee is included in the reservation. Our tours are only with previous reservation for people not staying at the Hacienda and they are only available from Friday to Sunday from 9am to 1pm. Horse Ridding & Four Track attractions available inside the Hacienda with additional cost. Other things to note Prepare to disconnect from the current world and transport yourself to another era. That is why our rooms do not have television and there is no telephone signal. It really is a getaway. * Areas where there is only WIFI signal for our guests: Reception and Restaurant. In the rooms there is no WIFI signal * The antique phones in the room works. These connect you to the reception phone box to request your call for an additional cost. * Important Detail: The water heater is solar, so in case it rains and there is not much sun, or all the rooms are reserved, the hot water may run out. Consider that the stay is on a farm in the countryside, so an insect may enter the room. At the moment the restaurant inside the Hacienda is not open yet, but soon it will be. But our Hacienda Lealtad Bistro a few minutes outside the Hacienda is open. Here you will find from breakfast, lunch, dinner and a lot of Lealtad coffee. Our Bistro open Thursday to Sunday. You can order from the room phone and request delivery or you can go personally since on weekends at night they have live music.
