Stargazing Desert Oasis

Enjoy a very private, spacious classic Borrego ranch house, featuring a large walled-in patio with an unheated in-ground pool and charcoal grill, rooftop access providing expansive views of the land and sky, antique western decor, Roku connected TV with movie collection, fully-stocked kitchen, complete with 2 bedrooms and an additional private room with 2 sleeper sofas. We have updated the home with new beds upstairs and new flooring. One of the best places to view the Milky Way in SoCal! The space Our private but centrally-located home has two bedrooms on the main floor, both with new queen size beds. The living room that overlooks the patio and pool has a couch, chairs, dining table, TV, and fireplace. The kitchen is on the main floor. Downstairs, there is a large rec room with giant TV that plays DVDs only. The rec room has two sofa sleepers. There are also one full size mattress, two twin mattresses, and a cot available to accommodate extra guests. There is a second full bathroom downstairs along with washer and dryer. Other things to note Please keep in mind that Borrego Springs is in the desert. It can at times be very hot and windy. Please know that we do our very best to have the house and grounds in great condition for you. The house and pool are professionally cleaned and disinfected before your arrival. If you have any issues, please let us know right away and we will take care of it for you. By renting our house in the desert, you acknowledge that due to the desert environment some insects may get into the house and that the pool and windows may not stay perfectly clean. It is understandable that this environment is not to everyone's liking. If you are not comfortable with these realities of a house in the desert, there are more polished options available in Palm Springs and in hotels in Borrego that are sealed against the environment. In order to be environmentally sound, our AC will not go below 73 degrees when the outside temperature exceeds 90 degrees. Please note that the jacuzzi bathtub in the main floor bathroom may not fill completely with hot water. The dedicated hot water tank doesn't have enough capacity. Upon checkout, please see the posted Courtesy Checkout lists, which including the following: *If you do not do the following things, you will be charged an additional $100. Unfortunately, some in the past have not cared for our home.* *Close windows and blinds/curtains and turn off the AC/heat and lights. There are 3 AC/heat controls to turn off. *Leave the kitchen clean, including washing and putting away dishes, pots, and pans. *Take all trash and recycling to the large bins outside of the backyard gate. *Return any moved furniture (indoor and outdoor) and mattresses to their original locations. *Leave any used beds unmade. *Leave all used towels in utility sink in downstairs bathroom. *Turn off all lights and ceiling fans. *Turn off both TVs and leave remotes by the correct TV. *Close windows and lock all doors and return the key to the lock box.
