Welcome to our lakeside escape. Life here happens mostly outdoors: grassy spots for lazy afternoons, a terrace for long dinners, a fire pit for stories and drinks, and a treetop terrace for feeling adventurous. Inside, a traditional cottage meets modern comfort, creating a cozy and welcoming space. But chances are you'll spend most of your time soaking up the lake views, swimming, SUPing, fishing, hiking—or simply doing nothing. Slovenia is waiting, but you may never want to leave the garden. The space This charming traditional Slovenian cottage comfortably accommodates 4 guests. Upstairs (low attic): ~1 bedroom with a small double bed. ~2 single beds in a cozy open-space loft. Ground floor: ~Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, stove, and all necessary cookware. ~Traditional dining room with a large brick oven, once used for heating, baking bread, and potica. ~Living room with sofa and TV, opening through large glass doors to a 20 m² terrace with dining table and grill. Bathroom: ~Shower, washing machine, and all essentials Outdoor & Activities: ~20 m² terrace with dining table and grill. ~Spacious lawn with trees providing cool shade in summer. ~Wooden garden furniture. ~Treetop terrace. ~An outdoor fire pit for relaxing evenings by the fire. ~Canoe (2-person) and SUP available for rent. ~Across the lake: a cozy bar with fair prices, coffee, cocktails, sweets, and canoe access. The lake is great for swimming, SUP and relaxing by the water. While it doesn't have the crystal-clear look of Alpine lakes, it's a great place to cool off and enjoy a summer day. Practical info: ~Nearest grocery store: 10 min drive in Šentjur. ~Accessible by car (last 200 m gravel). ~Not suitable for guests with limited mobility. Other things to note Slivniško lake is 5 km long and half a kilometre wide. It was created in 1976 by damming the Dobrina and Ločnica streams. It is a popular fishing destination, with a record catch of catfish, mackerel, carp and zander. In November 2013 the largest freshwater fish in Slovenia has been caught here - it was a catfish, 255 cm long and 95 kg heavy. The lake is suitable for water sports, and the surroundings for walking, cycling and observing fauna and flora. You can row a canoe there. Near our cottage there is a small camper van camp.
