Traditional family cottage by the lake

We rent a beautiful little house by the Slivniško lake near Šentjur. The house is build in traditional Slovene style. House is surrounded by green meadows, forests and lake. The house has great view on the lake which is popular for fishing, canoeing, SUP-ing. You can swim in the lake if you don’t mind the muddy water. You can go for a long walks or just chill in front of the house on a different relaxing spaces. The location is also great for exploring the whole country. The space The house is suitable for 4 persons. 1 bedroom with small double bed is placed on the 1st floor. 2 single beds are placed in an open space on the 1st floor. 1st floor is low attic. On the ground floor you can find fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, small stove and all necessary dishes, plates etc. There is also a lovely traditional dinning room with large brick oven which used to be the only way people heated the house, baked bread and potica in the old times. Small living room with the sofa and TV has large glass doors which lead to 20 square meters large outdoor terrace with dinning table. The grill is also available. If you are wondering if there is a bathroom in the house, let us comfort you - there is. It has shower and small washing machine and all other necessities. Around the house there is a lawn and trees that you can always find a cool shade in hot summer days. Wooden garden furniture is available. We have a canoe (for 2 persons) and SUP available for rent. There is nice bar with fair prices across the lake with great coffee, coctails and sweets. You can row a canoe there. Nearest grocery store is 10 min drive away in Šentjur. The house is accessible by car, last 200 meters the road is gravel. Unfortunately, the location is not suitable for people with limited mobility. Other things to note Slivniško lake is 5 km long and half a kilometre wide. It was created in 1976 by damming the Dobrina and Ločnica streams. It is a popular fishing destination, with a record catch of catfish, mackerel, carp and zander. In November 2013 the largest freshwater fish in Slovenia has been caught here - it was a catfish, 255 cm long and 95 kg heavy. The lake is suitable for water sports, and the surroundings for walking, cycling and observing fauna and flora. You can row a canoe there. Near our cottage there is a small camper van camp.
