Entire space is yours to enjoy, including large deck with propane grill and hot tub, you can literally hear the flap of a bird’s wing out there. Lots of wildlife walking by, and trailside for the outdoor enthusiast! My husband, Dave and I live on the property in an adjacent house with our yellow lab, Ethel. You must be comfortable making and maintaining a fire in the wood stove, it’s the only heat source. We provide all the wood! We welcome all friendly dogs, all of our neighbors have dogs, so an aggressive or reactive dog will not be a good fit. The trails adjacent to our property are perfect for cross country skiing, snowshoeing and hiking with your pup. We are completely available for guests during their stay, happy to socialize/advise or leave entirely alone! We live on the property, but give all the privacy desired. We have an acre bordering National Forest in a rural mountain neighborhood . Dirt roads but county maintained. An hour from Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, 5 major ski resorts, Boulder and Denver. 20 minutes to Nederland, small funky mountain town for shopping , hiking, music and souvenirs. Black Hawk and Central City are 20 minutes also, with 30 casinos between them! We are immersed in nature and wildlife, and love to connect our guests with a unique yet quintessential Colorado experience. Car is the only real method of transportation here, and 4WD most months highly recommended. Parking ample for 2 vehicles. The wood stove is the only heat source, so making and maintaining a fire in the stove safely is a MUST! At 8888 ft. , the temperature often drops at night. We provide firewood. 4WD vehicle necessary between November and February, helpful year round.
