Only 15 minutes from the quaint township of Leongatha, the cottage is ideally located—just 25 minutes from Mirboo North and within easy reach of local markets, wineries, and scenic walks. And for those craving adventure, it’s approximately a 1.5‑hour drive to Tidal River at Wilsons Promontory, one of Victoria’s most beloved destinations, where pristine beaches and breathtaking hikes await. Framed by century‑old Cyprus trees, sprawling lawns, and a heritage orchard, the property blends rustic character with modern luxury. Inside, the fully renovated kitchen is a gourmet’s delight, complete with a Belling oven, Smeg dishwasher, and spacious LG fridge. The bathroom and laundry overlook the old dairy and hills, stocked with fluffy towels, Salus bath products, and panel heating to keep everything cosy. The lounge invites you to sink into comfort beside the wood heater, with a full log box ready for evenings by the fire. Other things to note Brightside Cottage is set in a beautiful rural landscape, where nature is part of the experience. Guests are often treated to sightings of koalas, kangaroos, and fabulous birdlife that make the property feel truly special. Please note that several beehives are located around the cottage garden. The bees are active and sensitive to movement, so we kindly ask guests to enjoy the gardens with care and avoid stepping onto garden beds or disrupting their flight paths. During the summer months, snakes may occasionally be seen in the area. They generally keep to themselves, so we advise guests to simply give them space and allow them to move on. Due to the cottage’s original 1900s layout, Brightside is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. Narrow hallways and bathroom dimensions may limit mobility support.
