Beautiful country home, sleeping 8

Old Chapel House is in the small village of Ingham, three miles from the Norfolk coast. On a quiet country lane, it’s a cosy, welcoming home with lots of wonderful things to do nearby. With a large garden and public footpaths on the doorstep, there’s plenty of space for dogs and guests to roam. For forty years the house was our much-loved family home. We now live across the road and we welcome other families and groups of friends to make the most of this lovely place. The space The house sleeps eight people across four bedrooms. Two of these bedrooms have super-king beds, the third has a double and the fourth has two single beds. Upstairs there’s a family bathroom with a bath, separate shower and loo. On the ground floor there’s an additional shower and loo. At the heart of the house is the kitchen with underfloor heating and dimmer lighting to help create the perfect ambiance for dinner parties with friends. Well-stocked with everything a cook could need including a double oven, larder fridge, under the counter freezer, microwave and induction hob. The breakfast bar seats two and the space below can also be used for dog beds. Our young grandchildren have donated their children’s cutlery and plates for your small people to use. The kitchen table seats eight comfortably and a few more at a squeeze. If you need a highchair, we can provide that too. We have two comfortable reception rooms for making yourselves at home - one with a roaring open fire, the other with a television. The laundry/boot room includes a washing machine, tumble dryer and plenty of space to hang coats and boots after a long day outside. The garden is two acres of grass, trees and flower beds. So there’s enough space for a cricket match or two if that’s what you like. We also have a BBQ, outdoor dining area seating 8 people, bike storage and sun loungers. As the name of the house implies, there used to be a chapel in the garden and though that has now gone, the headstones from that era are set out under a large copper beech tree. The house also has a large gated gravel driveway which can take numerous cars. Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome, please bring their favorite bedding as we ask that dogs don't sit or lie on the furniture so that all is "fur free" for future guests. The garden is fenced and surrounded by low beech hedges to keep medium to large dogs safe. Every house has something magical about it and during spring the carpet of golden daffodils under the trees is stunning. As for the sunsets they are simply "bootiful" as they say in Norfolk and at the end of the day, the perfect place to view them is on one of the benches at the front of the house while sipping a glass of wine with friends. Old Chapel House is a wonderful place for those wanting to wind down in the quiet countryside. But it’s also an ideal base from which to explore this part of Norfolk with friends and families of all ages. There’s an abundance of things to see and do on your doorstep. Paths for walking dogs; the beaches at Cart Gap and Sea Palling; the seals at Horsey; the lighthouse at Happisburgh; The Broads for boats; Wroxham Barns with its animal farm; Bewilderwood for adventurous children. If you’re keen foodies then the well-known Ingham Swan is just walking distance away. The Gunton Arms is also a fabulous spot for Sunday lunch (remember to book – it’s rightly very popular). The unique East Ruston Old Vicarage Gardens are an absolute must. The Norfolk Wildlife Trust at Hickling has much to offer any twitchers in the family. Go a little further and there are two National Trust properties - Felbrigg and Blickling Hall. Alternatively the city of Norwich with its cathedral and cobbled streets is just a 25 minute drive.
