It’s located in the Akrotiri region of Chania only a stones’ throw from the award-winning beach of Marathi. This property has been lovingly renovated to capture the peaceful ambience of this area within the Akrotiri region of Chania and to give you, as our guests, a rural yet luxurious stay. Guests will have access to the entire villa, drive, patio/balcony areas and drive way. Marathi is known for its beauty, serenity and remoteness so finding local amenities like pharmacies, mini markets or supermarkets is a necessity. Around a 10-minute drive away from your villa in the village of Pithari you will find pharmacies, coffee shops and mini markets. Closer towards the city of Chania you will find bigger named supermarkets and more branded shops for all your other essentials. Marathi is located only 15 minutes’ drive (8km) from Chania International Airport; 30-minute drive (16km) to Chania city centre; 10-minute drive (in Pithari) from the nearest local amenities such as pharmacies, mini markets and local coffee shops; and 25-minute drive (16km) to the port of Souda. Marathi is a well-connected beach with public transport in the summer months, connecting the beach with Chania city centre and the rest of the island. Although it is recommended to get around by car on the Akrotiri peninsular it is also possible through taxi or transfer. If you would like any assistance with this, we’d be happy to help. Whether you’d like to go exploring by yourselves or in a chauffeured transfer, there are many activities to do on the Akrotiri peninsular as well as all over the island of Crete. There are many breath-taking beaches to see, for example; Elafonisi; Balos; Falasarna; Prevali; Paleochora; Seitan Limani; and many more. There are also hiking/exploring/cultural activities to do such as Samaria Gorge; Agia Irini Gorge; Agia Triada-Katholiko Monastery Trail; Zeus’ cave; Knossos and Heraklion city; and the E4 European Hiking Trail across the south coast of Crete. Marathi is well connected to the rest of the island as it has 2 main roads connecting it and taking you towards the national road. Travelling towards the quiet and less populated areas of Marathi you will find smaller and narrower roads; these are just one part of the beauty and quirkiness that your stay in Marathi will have to offer.
