Description
Take a break and unwind at this peaceful oasis sitting right on the McLeod River. A rustic wilderness setting, with modern amenities, whether you're looking for a cozy getaway or you're up for a hunting trip with your friends, our river view log cabin has what you need. Close to Whitecourt, Edson and Peers The space This is a 1-bedroom guest cabin separate from the main house. It is a rustic outdoor setting, only a quick half an hour from the city of Whitecourt. We want to let you know that our Caretaker Olaf’s friendly dog, Nemo—a lovable Goldendoodle—lives on the property. He’s incredibly gentle and enjoys meeting new people. From time to time, a couple of the neighbor’s farm dogs may wander over for a visit. They’re also very friendly and well-behaved. While we do our best to manage their visits, it’s not always possible to keep them off the property completely. If you have any concerns about dogs, please feel free to reach out—we’re happy to answer any questions or provide more details. Check out our neighbouring 2800 square foot 3 bedroom log cabin by clicking on my profile. Guest access Private cabin , yard and trails , Other things to note FYI. Just a driving safety tip. We’re are looking forward to hosting your stay at Generations Lodge. If you’re coming from Edmonton , I recommend that you use the Yellowhead highway 16 because when you turn onto Township Road 572 , it’s a right hand turn which is a lot safer than if you’re coming from Whitecourt and making a left turn onto Township Road 572 . The reason I bring this to your attention is that some of the big trucks on Highway 32 drive like crazy. Occasionally we have attempted the left Turn onto Township Road 572 and cars or trucks start to pass us as we are turning left, It is a a dangerous left turn. I wanted to draw your attention to this so that you exercise a lot of concentrated caution when you’re turning left. If you drive the Yellowhead highway and go through Peers, the right turn, east , is a lot safer. Once you are on Township Road 572 travel eastbound for about 3 km Down a winding gravel road till you come to a sign that says Generations Lodge. Turn left. At the bottom of the gentle hill, turn left again. You will see two white shops. Then you are on the property. Olaf the site caretaker will be there to meet you. He will gladly give you an orientation tour. If you are bringing your pet, please note that they are not allowed on the furniture. You are in the wilderness. If you decide to go for a walk in the trails, remember to take the bear spray with you. We haven’t seen any bears on our property, but we spotted a cougar last year. They are dangerous. This year we haven’t seen any. Also, if you’re walking in a group typically the animals won’t bother you. Regarding the hot tub : If both houses are rented, we ask our guests to share the hot tub. We have a whiteboard where you can book your hot tub times in 45 minute increments. If no one is renting the other guesthouse, the hot tub is all yours to use . —Anytime. The house is fully equipped with all cooking utensils, barbecue, fire pit, etc. You can purchase a generous load of firewood for $30 on site and do an E transfer for the wood purchase . Unfortunately, River access is not safe from our property because the riverbanks are so steep. But, the view is amazing. Because of the dry season, there may be a fire ban in place . Campfires may not be permitted If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us . We have now partnered with Total Oasis Ltd to offer in-home spa services at Generations Lodge! Enjoy a wide variety of spa services while staying at Generations Lodge. For Booking inquires, pricing and questions about services please contact Total Oasis Ltd Whitecourt.
