Beautiful property on the banks of the Charente

Situated on the banks of the Charente, the appartment forms a wing of an ancient priory, set in it's own walled seven hectare park. With it's own private terrace overlooking the river and a twenty metre swimming pool, the park also contains formal gardens, rose walk and stone steps down to the river. Located in the heart of a picturesque village, surrounded by vineyards, the house is a short walk to a Michelin starred restaurant and local bar. The Cognac Golf course is a 3 minute drive. The space The appartment is a wing of a much larger property that dates from the 12th century but the main building was rebuilt in the 18th century. The decor is a blend of old and new, that retains the charm of this historic building. Guest access The property is situated in a seven hectare enclosed park. Guests have full access to all the garden including orchards and wild flower gardens, a formal garden with tunnels as well as a rose walk and an ancient willow walk. Guests can access the river which runs the full length of the garden ,via ancient stone steps which allow easy access for all river activities such as paddle boarding and kayaking. The swimming pool is open during the summer months from may to the end of september. Other things to note In the heart of the village is a Michelin starred restaurant and a village café, a short 5 minute walk from the house. The Cognac golf course, situated among the vineyards is less than 2km and a short 3 minute drive.
