We offer a 1st floor guest room & private bath inside our home near the Salisbury Cove area of Bar Harbor. Bar Harbor Lobster Pound, Mainely Meat BBQ, Utter Heaven Ice Cream & also Mini Golf is within walking distance. The Acadia NP Visitor Center, the start of the Park Loop Rd and downtown Bar Harbor are within 2 to 5 miles. Drive into Acadia or to the shops, restaurants & excursions of Bar Harbor or from late June to mid Oct, catch the free Island Explorer shuttle from the end of our road. The space Please review our availability calendar before choosing an arrival and departure date for your stay as we don't generally accept reservations that will leave a single night vacant and orphaned just before or after the new booking request. Please also consider purchasing trip insurance to avoid potential loss of funds due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness, family loss, flight cancelations and severe weather impacting the ability to travel as planned. Guest access Guests will have use of a very clean first floor bedroom with queen bed, private use of a bathroom with small shower located just outside the guest room, and just a few steps away for your private use is a dining room with kitchenette-type buffet offering a microwave, mini fridge, water cooler, Keurig, and serving ware. Access to our family kitchen is not included, but we do provide a continental breakfast to include coffee, juice, fruit, yogurt and cereal. We also encourage guests to take in the pretty garden views from our front covered porch or enjoy our large back deck overlooking a spacious lawn and campfire if weather permits. The living room and kitchen area are not spaces we share, but we're a friendly family so it wouldn't be unusual for conversations about your excursions to take place as you pass through this area to get to the back deck and yard or simply to ask for recommendations. In fact, we encourage it and look forward to answering any questions you might have about the Island and the National Park. During your stay We are very friendly and accommodating family. Lynn is semi retired after 16 years as a professional rental agent and Jeff is a film and media arts teacher for our local high school and also a Maine certified kayak guide. Our two adult children live out of state, but are equally friendly and accommodating to guests during their short visits home. We all work together to ensure a positive guest experience! Other things to note Beautiful Acadia National Park with 35,000-acres covers roughly half of Mount Desert Island. The 45 miles of carriage roads offer scenic opportunities for walking, running and biking and the 120 miles of hiking trails wander through pristine forests, by freshwater lakes and ponds, over granite ledges and up numerous mountains to enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding ocean, bays, inlets and outer islands.
