Welcome to The Sea View! Here you’ll find everything you need for your next retreat! We offer three bedrooms on the main floor and a lighthouse themed bunkbed lookout upstairs with gorgeous sunset views. Kick up and relax inside or catch an ocean breeze on the sun-soaked wraparound deck. Just a short stroll to a residents/guests only beach - dogs welcome too! Rinse off in the outdoor hot/cold shower and chill out on the generous shaded patio. The Sea View can accommodate up to eight guests comfortably, utilizing two king beds, one queen bed and a set of twin bunk beds. We do not offer sleeper sofas. The interior living space is 1,368 square feet. Like most beach homes, Sea View is on pilings. The main level of the home is elevated, so you do need to climb stairs to access the main floor of the home. That said, the lighthouse bunk room is accessed via a staircase/ladder. Your front door is up the stairs on the west side of the home. There is a keypad on the door. You will be given the access code to the keypad prior to your arrival. Upon entry into the home you are greeted by a bright and airy living, dining, kitchen area. This open concept layout is perfect for entertaining your guests. The flat-screen smart television is mounted above our candle lit fireplace. Guests are to login to your own app accounts and are responsible for logging out upon departure. We do not provide our logins. This is the perfect space to enjoy family and friends over a board game or late night movie. The kitchen is fully stocked with more than the basics. We aim to supply you with all of the pots, pans, and utensils. Please note that the home will occasionally have salt, pepper, and olive, however we do not supply these items. The kitchen table seats four. We have additional dining outside. The master bedroom can be found on the north-east side of the home. It has a king bed, nightstands with reading lamps, privacy door, flat-screen smart television, open closet with storage space for luggage and a private three piece bath. The master bathroom has a walk-in shower, fresh linens and bar soap. Please do not take our linens to the beach. The west side of the home hosts two guest bedroom sharing a Jack-n-Jill bath. It has a retro shower/tub combo, vanity and loo. It is shared amongst the queen bedroom and the guest king bedroom. The queen bedroom can be found on the north-west corner of the home. This bedroom has a queen bed, nightstands with reading lamps, flat-screen smart television, a chest of drawers and a closet for storing your luggage. The king room is located on the north-west corner of the house. It has a dresser, nightstands with reading lamps, flat-screen smart television and a walk-in closet for storing your luggage. It also has blackout window coverings. The fourth guest room is "the lighthouse" bunk room. This bedroom has amazing south-west views, a set of twin bunks, nightstand with reading lamp, blackout shades, and an additional cooling system. The room is cooled by our central HVAC, but we also added a 6,000 BTU Hisense Portable Air Conditioner for a 250 square feet small room to add an additional cooling punch. When relaxing at Sea View, you can sit on the deck to soak up the sun and enjoy your privacy. We have a picnic table for dining as well as additional seating, hammock and a charcoal grill underneath the house. This is where many folks spend most of their time. It is absolute heaven. Guests are responsible for bringing all of their BBQ supplies. Please pull the grill out from under the house before grilling. We also request that you replace back inside the storage area once cool to prevent rust and corrosion. Underneath the house you will find the washer/dryer room as well as an outdoor shower with hot and cold water. There is nothing better than showering under the stars. Please always use the outdoor shower prior to or in lieu of showering indoors after the beach. The sand is hard on our pipes. There is a hose available for quick rinses too. Please remember to rinse/wipe down any doggie guests after a beach visit also. Guests have exclusive access to everything pictured as well as a locking storage area beneath the house with room to store bicycles, floats, coolers etc. There is an additional locked owners shed which guests do not have access to. We live in Birmingham AL and are lucky enough to visit Gulf Shores every couple of months. In the meantime we have a team cleaning and looking after the house and I am available to guests for any and all questions via email, phone and text. Nestled between the Bon Secour Bay and the Emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico we're located down the Fort Morgan peninsula of Gulf Shores. We belong to a quiet coastal community called Surfside Shores that doesn't offer public beach access locals and guests (YOU!) only. We're close to award winning golf at both Kiva Dunes and The Peninsula and just a twenty minute drive down highway 180 to central Gulf Shores. While there are great restaurants in the heart Gulf Shores there are a number of fun neighborhood spots to eat close-by on this side of the island too. We suggest doing most of your grocery shopping before arrival but there are a couple markets to grab most anything you've forgotten or run out of (limited fresh foods ie fruit and veggies). There is an undeniable sense of awe of the natural beauty in this area and we regularly see flocks of Pelicans fly by, pods of dolphins swimming, turtles crossing the road, bunnies in the brush, and little green frogs on the deck at night enjoying the ocean mist. As my preschooler points out we have a wide variety of bugs that call Fort Morgan home as well. As such keep all doors closed and help us keep the jungle outside. We spray quarterly for bugs/ants but they will be attracted to an open door, food left out, and sometimes make their way inside despite our best efforts. There are thunder and lightning storms here and the occasional Wi-Fi outage. We are not responsible for downed Wi-Fi and the cable company always does their best to restore as quickly as possible when this happens. There is parking in the driveway for about six cars. Its a quick five minute (1/4 mile) walk to the beach without any major roads to cross. The house has undergone a number of new renovations as of Spring 2022 - kitchen, baths, floors, paint and furniture. We are happy to share the Sea View with other travelers near and far as they create their own lasting memories here in Fort Morgan. For those who know, they know, there really is no where quite like this and we consider it to be one of the most special and happy places there is. The surroundings are wild and rustic, the beaches uncrowded and the waves and wind can feel downright alive with their own unruly personalities. We are nature lovers at heart and enjoy the wildlife of the island - turtles, frogs, dolphins, cranes, oh my! Our preschool aged children love playing in the sand dunes under the house - essentially a giant sandbox, and the whole family would look forward to our daily sunset walk on the beach. The skies are big and the sprawling sunsets here cannot be beat. There is the occasional power and or Internet outage here and the local utilities company always works quickly to resolve. We are not responsible for any outages during your stay.
