Murata-cho, known as the "Little Kyoto of Michinoku Miyagi", has long prospered as a commercial city on the highway connecting Yamagata and Sendai. Staying in a samurai residence near the "Kura no Machinami" (storehouse townscape), which is reminiscent of the bustle of the time, is a valuable experience in itself. ■ About the Murata-machi Samurai Residence The main house is a wooden one-story building with a thatched roof, but it is now covered with iron plates. The storehouse is a two-story building with a gabled roof, a white plaster finish on the exterior walls, and a first-floor wall with a lower view. The year of construction of the main house is presumed to be the late Edo period, and the storehouse was built in 1925. It is a very valuable samurai residence, the only one remaining in the castle town of Murata Castle (Hall), and Murata-machi Samurai Residence (former Tayama Residence) was designated a cultural property of Murata-machi in 1994. The space ■ Important Notice The Murata-cho Samurai Residence is a town-designated cultural property. Please be aware that open flames are strictly prohibited and all rooms are non-smoking. We have new facilities around the water, but there are many places in the building where old wood is used, and there are parts that are fragile, so please be careful when handling them. In addition, bringing in and using electrical appliances is prohibited. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in preserving cultural assets. [Information] ① Murata-machi Samurai Residence uses a self check-in system. Details will be provided once the booking is confirmed. ② Unlike modern architecture, the insulation is low and there are gaps in the walls, so even if you use the heating facilities (air conditioner, oil fan heater) indoors in winter, you will feel cold. Please be aware of this beforehand. ■ Accommodation conditions No meals are provided. It is a room-only accommodation. We can accommodate up to 9 people. The bedding available is "1 double bed, 7 futons (for 9 people)". * There is no air conditioner in the bed room. Please be careful as it is not suitable for summer use. In addition to eating out at nearby restaurants, you can also enjoy cooking in the kitchen in the facility. We have minimal cooking utensils and dishes. * There are no condiments or ingredients. Please bring them with you. * About linens and amenities We provide 1 face towel and 1 bath towel per person, regardless of the number of days. * If you would like additional towels, please message us after your reservation is confirmed. We offer it for a fee. * Amenities such as toothbrushes are provided as 1 set per person regardless of the number of days. * Replacement sheets are not available for stays of 5 nights or less. If you stay for 6 nights or more, we will provide replacement sheets, so please change them yourself. ■ Electric Bicycle Rental Information There are two electric bicycles in the Murata-cho Samurai Residence. Guests are free to use them. Please read and follow the terms of use below. * Rental bicycle terms of use ・ The user is responsible for any accidents that occur while using the rental bicycle. ・ If necessary, take the measures prescribed by law, such as contacting the police. (About damage, etc.) ・ If the rental bicycle is damaged or lost due to an accident, etc., the user will be responsible for the cost.
