Peaceful Catskill Mountain Hideaway

Enjoy a comfortable balance of rustic and elegant in this cozy, studio retreat in the Catskill Mountains of NY, midway between the lovely towns of Woodstock and Phoenicia. Queen bed, kitchen, beautiful light, private deck with forest views. Due to allergies, we do not allow pets. This includes service animals. We use fragrance free laundry detergent. No smoking or vaping. This listing is not suitable for children or infants. The space Your Sunny Peaceful Mountain Hideaway is a sweet 350-square-foot studio apartment with a private entrance off a stone walkway, queen size bed, sitting area, compact kitchen with cooktop (no oven), and bathroom with shower. The kitchen has everything you'll need, including a coffeemaker (coffee provided). The water from our well is safe for drinking and tastes great. No need to bring bottled water. Wake up to birds singing and beautiful light from south-facing windows. The deck gets both shade and sun, with comfortable seating and a forest view that feels serene and remote. It's the perfect quiet retreat for a couple on a romantic weekend or a single person needing time for introspection, creativity, or to get a bit of quiet work done. No more than two people please. Your entrance and small yard are private. The property is set back off the road, and the grounds are secluded and peaceful. Large shag-bark hickory trees line the driveway and perennial flowers bloom here and there. In June, the scent of wild roses fills the air! During the summer, it's a pleasure to open the windows and enjoy the cool night air and magical sounds of the forest - it's simply incredible and much better than air conditioning (though we do have air conditioning for those few evenings, at the height of summer, when it's necessary). In wintertime, the driveway and path to your door are both regularly cleared of snow. There's a wall-mounted heater that will keep you warm and cozy inside and, if needed, extra blankets are provided. To balance that warm, cozy feeling of being "snowed-in" you can venture out to one of the nearby slopes to take advantage of skiing and snowboarding. We provide a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network on a Netgear AC1900 router. The television offers Chromecast, so you can use your smartphone, tablet, or laptop to view your favorite entertainment on the TV screen. Please be aware that in this rural area, the signal from our provider may occasionally be weak or broken, especially in rainy times. It generally comes back quickly and rarely disrupts common usage. Guest access Our home is adjacent to our rentals. Please note this apartment is one of two that are in the same building. The apartments are completely separate, each with its own access, though they do share a wall. To preserve this peaceful environment we ask that you be respectful of others on the property. Other things to note This apartment is equipped with a three burner stove top as well as a microwave. There is no oven.
