Built in the early 1900s by the army, this charming 3BR - 2BA house is full of character & perfect for a couple or large family. Dog-friendly-NO pet fee. The space This historical cottage was renovated & modernized while preserving the memories from the past. In the heart of the former Ft. Screven, this cottage was built circa 1920 by the US Army to house officers. It is a perfect location, only 1.5 blocks from the beach and Tybee's famous Lighthouse. Details: -All 3 bedrooms have a queen bed. The master also has a trundle bed w/ 2 twin beds. -Linens & bath towels, soap, paper products provided. -TV in 2 of the bedrooms. DVD player w/ some DVDs provided. Living room TV is a smart TV. All have Directv. -Indoor & outdoor dining tables. -2 full bathrooms. Master bathroom is en suite & has a large double shower. Second bath has original clawfoot tub with added shower. -Full kitchen with plenty of cookware, dishes & utensils. Coffee maker, microwave/air fryer, electric stove/oven, toaster & blender. -Laundry with washer & dryer. Detergent provided. -The back yard and deck are the heart of this cottage. Tall fencing & canopy curtain provide ample privacy. The back yard is fully fenced in for dogs. -Some beach supplies are provided. Guest access Entire cottage plus front area, back yard and parking area. Other things to note This is a registered historic cottage, and we’ve worked hard to improve everything we can while preserving the historic elements. All of the cottages on the lane were originally built for officers stationed at Fort Pulaski, so the cottages are not large homes but perfect for a beach getaway. -The listing is very accurate and provides everything you'll need. -Neighbors located on either side & behind. This is a historic neighborhood, so homes are closer together. The main backyard deck area is cocooned from the neighbors with high privacy fencing, gazebo privacy curtain & trees. -Parking in front of the cottage is limited. 1-2 vehicles will fit in the parking area (depending on size). Parking is available at the end of the lane for 1-2 additional vehicles or for any large trucks/SUVs. -We only supply the listed beach supplies. Any other beach supplies were left by previous guests. We're not responsible for the condition of left beach supplies, and they are tossed every 30 days. -There are a couple of uneven tiles in one bedroom. -The backyard has 2 pecan trees. Pecans stain the outdoor furniture, chairs & siding. Sometimes those stains won't come out. I assure you we tried everything we could. -The back yard consists mainly of the back deck with some yard on either side. There’s enough room for dogs to enjoy. -Tybee has strict laws protecting feral cats, so you may see some cats roaming free on the island. That is just a Tybee quirk, and none are harmful in anyway.
