Recharge in this serene retreat cradled in 18 lovely acres with two spring fed ponds and inspiring views all around. Lounge in a hammock and grill on a generous deck overlooking the pond; enjoy sunrise and sunset over fall foliage without a neighbor in sight; in winter, a crackling fire after sledding, cooking, or movies. Here you will find peace and wellbeing, whether on vacation or working remotely. We have newly launched and will make sure you are comfortable! There is a large master bedroom with its own deck for star gazing, a more intimate first floor bedroom, and a sleeping loft with sleeper sofas and two inflatable queen mattresses. There's a gorgeous Vermont Castings wood burning stove in the living room plus a contemporary gas fireplace in the dining room. The house is oriented toward the southern light in a partly forested partly grassy watershed whose many natural springs feed two ponds. The wrap around deck makes the space flow seamlessly indoors and outdoors to enjoy views in every direction. You will have access to the entire house except for the basement and a few closets. The property caretaker will be available to help with any issues as needed. Jefferson is a small town in upstate New York where the Catskill mountains meet picturesque farmland with a rich dairy heritage. Jefferson was incorporated in the early 1800's and it is worth visiting the town's beautiful museum on Main Street. Only twenty minutes away, there is the Iroquois Museum which tells of the much older human history of the area. Jefferson is 30 minutes from Oneonta and Cobleskill and the famous Cooperstown, ten minutes from Stamford and only an hour away from Albany and Hudson. The land itself is the main attraction though. Enjoy small country roads, scenic barns, stone walls, and the many bodies of water including the majestic Schoharie Creek. The roads are well maintained throughout the year—they are cleared immediately after winter snows. Enjoy the rolling hills and small country roads with a bicycle or motorcycle in good weather. Please let us know beforehand if you need to use the EV charger. Please note that washer/dryer is not available for shorter stays so pack accordingly. Also, be aware that this is a rural setting so expect animals such as deer, foxes, wild turkeys, skunks, porcupines, coyotes, frogs, and even the occasional bear on the property and also, you are likely to hear gunshots as hunting is popular in the area. While the house is well insulated and all windows and doors screened, be aware that insects such as moths may find their way inside. In short, this is a country property and its nested in beautiful nature as far as the eye can see!
