Camper/RV in Kelowna

Enjoy total privacy in this unique retreat on an acreage just outside city limits. Some of our features include: a fully outfitted kitchen, roosters crowing in the distance, fresh eggs, quiet nights with only the sounds of nature, running water and solar power, a gorgeous outhouse, an outside eating area with BBQ and fire pit, reading time in a hammock situated amongst the shady trees, steps from rock climbing and hiking, pet friendly, and minutes from Okanagan Lake and endless wineries! The space If you are interested in glamping without the work, this is the place for you! Given we are off-grid, we do not have AC or the ability to run fans, even at the main house. Thankfully, it usually cools down nicely up here at night. We live on 5 acres surrounded by hills, forest and diverse landscape with amazing rock formations and a view of the lake and valley. This space is apart from the main house, so it is very private and close to the road for easy access and room for parking large vehicles, including a toy trailer or boat. We are situated perfectly if you are into rock climbing, mountain or dirt biking, or off-roading adventures. There are two beds in the space, but the main one is a double and the dining area is a small single, so 2 adults are ideal. Basics like coffee, tea, S&P, oil, vinegar, and sugar are provided. Farm fresh eggs will also be part of your stay as long as there is supply. Our hens can be finicky :) Hand soap, dish soap, hand sanitizer and wipes are also provided. There is no hot water in the camper, but water can be boiled for dishes and cleaning. Enjoy an outdoor shower experience (including hot water most of the time:) under the canopy of trees! Earth friendly shampoo, conditioner and shower gel is provided for your convenience. The propane heater in the camper works quickly for those chilly nights! There is also a lovely fire pit for guest use, but please keep in mind, fires are only permitted as long as there are no fire bans. Flashlights or headlamps are a good idea, especially if you want to go on an evening hike. But solar and twinkle lights will help guide your way around the space and give the lovely feel of escape to another, more magical, world. Off grid living comes with unexpected challenges. If the sun doesn't cooperate, we need to run a generator at times, although this is rarely done at night. We are always power and water conscious on this property and would appreciate a similar respect to our resources. Guest access We are uniquely situated in that it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere, and yet we are minutes from town and many of the amenities Kelowna has to offer. We are 5 min from the renowned Summerhill Pyramid Winery and 6 min from Barnowl Brewery, Milk Shed coffeehouse, grocery, liquor and other stores, and several restaurants. Our place is off of a dirt road, but the pavement goes up to our property line, so the bumpy ride only lasts a few seconds and until winter hits, any vehicle can easily get to us. A few meters up that road and our place is the first driveway to your right. Other things to note We have dogs, cats and chickens on the premises, so pets are welcome as long as they are friendly and won't harass the chicken coop area, or have issues interacting with my dog who roams free most of the time (he is our guard dog for the chickens). However, keeping your pets on leash solves most issues. If you bring your furry friends with you, please clean up after them. Registration Details Provincial registration number: Exempt
