Tent Camping Site 1 at Deer Isle Hostel

Deer Isle Hostel and Ecolodge is on a bridge-accessed island. It is part of an owner-built homestead featuring a seventeenth-century style house, forest huts and single rooms. We offer communal dinner every Saturday in June through September. Dinner is $20pp (kids under 10 eat free). Let us know if you want to sign up when you make your reservation! The space A simple, beautiful tent site on a mossy little rise tucked into the woods behind the hostel. Less than a 2 minute walk to bathrooms and the main hostel building, yet totally private. You won't have any neighbors as there is only one tent site. No tent or gear is included. The flat space is approximately 6X7 feet so just large enough for most 2 person tents. Not really suitable for larger setups. There is room for chairs. It is a walk-in site and parking is 150 yards away. No fires are allowed at the private site but you are welcome to the fire pit by the hostel building as well as the other amenities. A pet may be allowed at this site with prior permission. Please contact us before making a reservation if you are traveling with a pet. Guest access Shower, composting toilet restrooms, fire pit and kitchen are all communal. The hostel is beside a seaside nature park with trials. During your stay One of our hosts or the owner, Dennis, are usually working on the grounds. We're always excited to meet new people and are usually available in the morning and evenings to help guests, give recommendations or short property tours, and get to know you. We also have three dogs which love to greet you, go on walks, and keep you company. Check in is from 4pm - 9pm; please make every attempt to arrive during those hours. If you're interested in meeting other travelers and hanging out around the fire or dinner table, then this hostel is the perfect place for you. At the same time, if you're looking for some private, quiet time in a beautiful forest getaway, our hostel is big enough that there's always somewhere to withdraw to for a little forest bathing.
