Characterful old cottage

Peaceful cottage on the edge of the countryside, adjacent to picturesque walks and cycle track. We are approximately a one mile walk from Monarchs Way and Himley Country park, with direct access from the back of the cottage. The famous Black Country Museum, Baggeridge Country Park, Ashwood Nursery and Ashwood Marina are a short drive away. Being on the outskirts of a quiet residential area, we are also within walking distance of local shops, pubs and restaurants. The space Our cottage dates back to c1700 and is locally listed. Some of the ceilings are quite low, so mind your head on the beams if you are tall. We have been told that it was originally two tiny cottages but has had small extensions added over the years. Your bedroom and bathroom were added on in Victorian times. The stairs are original, so quite steep, with a turn at the top but there are only 9 steps to climb. Guest access You will have a double bedroom with adjacent private bathroom. You are also welcome to make use of a snug area which has two easy chairs and a small TV. The kitchen and gardens are shared areas. Please feel free to make tea or coffee at any time. We aim to provide a simple DIY breakfast consisting of 3 or 4 cereals, milk, juice, bread (or toast), jam, marmalade, honey etc. Other things to note The garden has a pond in one corner so be careful if you venture outside. We welcome adult guests but the cottage is not really set up to cater for infants or children at the moment. We have a small Cockapoo. You are welcome to park on the drive but please be aware that the entrance is down a narrow bridleway and parking is under trees. The mobile signal is very poor in this area so we usually use WiFi for communicating with friends and family. You can usually get a signal if you are happy to sit on the bench in the top garden. 😀
