This circa 1900 building has a fascinating history, having been a hotel, a hospital, a train depot and ticket office, and a tavern named the Dew Drop Inn. Today, it is reborn into stylish apartments with a vintage vibe. Enjoy fantastic natural lighting from the original art-deco skylights and the classic warmth of antique oak floors. The space is designed to accommodate large groups visiting nearby Virginia Tech or Radford. The VT aquatic center is 1/4 mile away. VT campus is 10 minutes. The space Upon walking up the interior stairs, guests will enter the living room, furnished with two couches and intriguing decor. An amazing skylight illuminates the space until sundown. The photography and artwork give guests a real appreciation for the historic narrative of the building. A large flat-screen tv is ready for your group to gather to watch a game or movie. On to the kitchen, a bar-height table awaits for mealtime with your group. Newly updated granite countertops modernize this area, which boasts yet another large skylight. The large master bedroom includes one queen bed, two nightstands and a dresser for storage. Two USB bedside lamps are a convenient addition to charge your devices. Bedroom 2 sleeps five, with a full bed and a twin-over-full bunk bed. Two tall, large windows are found in each bedroom, letting in lots of light if desired. A spacious bathroom sits adjacent to bedroom 2 and the living room. "This was such a fun find! We didn’t get to stay long, but this place has a ton of character. The cute store fronts and the working train track near by was actually charming. The host had towels and linens ready and some treats on the kitchen table. Entry was well described. Long staircase going upstairs directly into the family room. Very simple layout and perfect for what we needed. It’s obviously older per the description, but also updated nicely. Would stay again." - Tammy, August 2023 “This is a great loft apartment in an historic property in Cambria. It is very accessible to downtown, the malls and the interstate. The apartment was nicely furnished and very comfortable for an extended stay. The apartment has two very cool skylight features in the living area and kitchen, and all the rooms have very nice large windows. Be aware that the train passes by directly across the street from the apartment frequently, but it is not noisy or disturbing; I found it actually quite pleasant and enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again.” -James, May 2023 “This place is a gem! Stayed here for my son’s meet at Christiansburg Aquatic Center, and it could not have been more perfect. It’s about 3 minutes away from the pool, so we could come and go easily in between events. The place itself is so cool—top level of a quaint, old commercial building. Easy access off the street, up the stairs to our own private nest. Great smart TV, lots of sitting and sleeping space, full kitchen with cozy eating area, and two cool recessed skylights. The place is nicely decorated, everything feels new and clean. There are train tracks across the street, and the train goes by often—but it isn’t jarring at all. It’s actually soothing—even my husband, who struggles sleeping thought so. Finally, Steven was very friendly and responsive—answering my messages within minutes. Other things to note This apartment is part of a complex with three other apartments and sits above a retail space. Before booking, please understand that we do not allow any parties or events in the space, and we kindly ask guests to be respectful of other tenants with regard to noise. Thank you! Please note, the property sits near the train tracks—you’ll hear the train as it passes by. Many guests find the sound enjoyable, but we provide box fans in each bedroom closet for white noise.
