Cozy stay at base of Wildcat Mt- Driftless Hygge!

Get cozy in the Driftless Hygge Cottage, right at the base of Wildcat Mountain State Park. The cottage is over 100 years old, but newly re-designed with your utmost coziness in mind. In the heart of the Driftless region of Wisconsin, stay in the remarkable beauty of the rolling hills, bluffs, and world-class trout streams. Just at the edge of the village city limits makes the amenities of the small village within walking distance, but still have privacy around a campfire taking in the views! The space The cottage is set up to host 8 people, a 9th is doable with the pull-out sofa bed in the office, with family togetherness at the heart of the stay. There are two bathrooms, with a big soaker tub in the upstairs bathroom for that extra bit of cozy and relaxation. We have a brand-new grill for your daily catch or harvest. There's fast Wifi and a desk set up for you upstairs for some quiet work-time, if you need. There is a stocked kitchen with blender, baking tins, spices, slow-cooker, and a cocktail maker set. For those coffee lovers, there's a Keurig, 12-cup coffee maker, and French Press to make sure you get your daily dose of caffeine however you prefer. We have a Fire TV with a Roku Stick so you don't miss any of your favorite series-- BYOP (bring your own passwords)! We also have a DVD player with an assortment of children to adult movies. The TV stand houses quite a few different board games to make memories playing with your family! Guest access The cottage and surrounding lawns are for your exploring and views. Be sure to check out the tree that's at the corner of the front lawn by the gravel. It's a perfect setting for a couple's picture inside the tree. The front porch is currently under construction and is not open for guest access at this time. The shed is not part of the guest access. The cellar (access is outside near the back door) is for shelter for severe weather only. Otherwise, no access. Other things to note We take the sanitation and cleaning procedures of our home very seriously. All linens are laundered with every new stay, and all commonly touched surfaces and objects are sanitized with every clean. We do welcome pets! Please ensure you add them in the booking. We have bowls and waste bags under the kitchen sink. A couple of rules for our furry guests-- no pets on the furniture/beds and clean up the yard waste after your pets. Additional cleaning fees will be applied if either of these rules are not followed. There are doggy towels for wet paws/bellies in the back entryway. The nearest cities are Cashton or Hillsboro, both about 15-minutes away and a population of about 2,000, so make sure to pack any special groceries or needs you may have. You are welcome to use the fire-ring but it is bring your own firewood. No shoes inside the home, please. Shoes are to be taken off and left in the front entryway. The security cameras are for the security of the cottage and shed while guests are not staying. They are purposefully not pointed towards guest lounging areas. There are two cameras, one at the main entry and one at the back entry. The keypad unlocks the deadbolt. To lock upon leaving, put in the code again and turn the deadbolt to lock it. No need to start the dishwasher before you leave. We will do it to ensure clean dishes! Please leave the upstairs bathroom door open when not in use for the heat/AC system.
