Private suite on small farm
Relax in the bucolic Northeast Kingdom on a small peaceful homestead & native plant sanctuary. We endeavor to make the space a cozy haven for you as well. Those efforts include reducing our environmental impact. We strive to be as plastic-free & organic as possible. We also compost & recycle and request that you do the same. We clean with Blueland products to create a healthy & welcoming space for all. Though the road crew takes good care, please note that the road is unpaved. Thank you! The space is small and cozy, but has everything you will need during your stay. If there is anything that is not there, please let us know. We will gladly do our best to accommodate. The queen mattress is Avacado latex and wool. We use organic sheets and towels. Because many of our guests have allergies, we do not allow pets. Feel free to wander the property but please do not open any fences or gates or enter any buildings. For biosecurity concerns and safety reasons, we do not allow anyone inside our barns or pastures. Because we live on site and have full-time remote jobs, we may or may not be available to answer questions in person. We will definitely be available to answer questions by text or phone. Please feel free to say hi if you see us around doing chores There is abundant nature in the area such as cross country skiing, hiking, and biking. We live in a rural area on a dirt road. There are no street lights so please drive carefully as there could be deers or bears on the road. Although our mailing address is Irasburg and our physical address is Albany, we are closest to West Glover. Please take that into account when making your plans. We are located on a dirt road, which can get dusty, full of potholes, muddy, and slippery. During the winter it is helpful to have winter tires or AWD. We have two huge but friendly livestock guardian dogs, one of whom likes to jump on people. He will usually be in the pasture and may be sitting across the gate outside your door. It's okay to say hi to him. When our hens are laying, enjoy complimentary organic eggs. If you would like more to take with you, they are available for purchase ($4/dozen). Because we are a farm with goats, minature horses, and chickens, there might be a few flies in the summer. There is a binder on the bookshelf that has lots of information such as what is compostable. Also in the binder are flyers with places of interest that you might find interesting. Things might be further away than they look on the map. We are close to Craftsbury Outdoor Center, Parker Pie, Jasper Hillside Farmstead Brewery, the Bread and Puppet Theater and Museum, and other places of interest. If you need more recommendations, please feel free to ask! Please enjoy your stay!
