Description
In 2017 we discovered and purchased this small farm in Nariel Valley. It ticked all the boxes with a creek running through it and backing onto bushland. Our dream has been realised and after 20 years of managing other people’s farms we are living in our new home, on our farm, with our small herd of Angus cows. We knew Nariel was special but we continue to discover its myriad of offerings for those who love solitude or outdoor pursuits. We look forward to sharing what we have discovered with you. The space The house is about 150m off the road. You will enter the guest suite into an air-lock off which the bathroom and separate toilet are situated. The room has ramp access and grab rails in shower and toilet. The main room contains a queen bed, television and small kitchenette with table and chairs, sink, fridge, microwave, air fryer and electric fry pan for basic meal cooking. A coffee machine and other hot drink amenities are provided. The build was completed in June 2022 so the room is fresh and light-filled with large windows looking out to the paddocks, hills and bush beyond. Winter can be cold but you will enjoy the thermostat controlled gentle warmth of in-floor heating. In addition there is a split system for cooling and additional heating if required. Be aware that you are remote and there is no mobile phone service on the property. You will have very reliable Starlink internet access so will have wi-fi calling option available in your room. Guest access The suite is under the same roof-line as the house with its own separate access off a shared verandah. The farm is 150 Acres but be sure to check with us which electric fences are on and which paddock the bull is in before you start exploring and of course leave all gates how you find them. Other things to note This accommodation is in a remote location. The nearest town for services is Corryong, 25 minutes away (35 kms). IGA supermarket is open until 6pm mid-week and 4pm weekends (and can vary). Fuel is available until 5pm mid-week and until midday Saturday on weekends. Some 24hr unattended options for fuel also now exist. If you are approaching the property from Omeo it is a gravel road, hilly and windy for a significant portion. Be clear on the directions as you will not have mobile service in some parts of the valley. Visiting in Winter? Distances from Ski fields and 'google maps' (or equivalent) cannot be used to estimate times as you are travelling on mountainous, windy roads in unpredictable weather. In good conditions: Thredbo is 2 hours, Perisher is 3 hours, Hotham 3.5 hours (via Bright), Falls Creek 3 hours, Selwyn 2 hours. If you are considering coming from the Benambra direction the road does get snow at times over winter (which is not cleared), is gravel and there is not a chain hire available in Benambra.
