Through the app The house is located at elevation in the mountains, with both breathtaking mountain and tree-line views. The house can be easy to miss when the trees are in full bloom, so look for the address on the mailbox along the street as a visual for where to enter the driveway. There are neighbors, but they are far enough away where you don't hear or see them. Downtown Boone is just a 10 minute drive away. Popular attractions like Banner Elk & Blowing Rock are not much further away. You will need a car to get around. When trying to get back to the property from town, the traditional navigation apps send you the wrong way, which is longer and includes a portion of unpaved road. You can download the Waze app onto your smartphone for more accurate routing to and from the property. This is a mountain house so the roads leading up to it are steep and winding. Weather conditions in the mountains can be unpredictable. Sometimes rain, fog, snow, sleet or ice create unexpected and hazardous driving conditions. It is not guaranteed that snowy or icy roads will be cleared. Since road conditions may become hazardous during your stay, a 4-wheel drive vehicle and/or chains and the ability to drive on snow and ice is strongly recommended to get to and from the property. It is your responsibility to arrive fully prepared. We are not responsible for vehicles that get stuck in the snow. There will be no refunds, allowances or date changes due to inclement weather or driving conditions.
