The Rustic Retreat

This simple but stylish barn conversion is a light and spacious one bedroom home with its own private south facing garden and terrace. Set in lush countryside it enjoys views onto a colourful florist’s garden. There is a large dining area and open plan kitchen with sofa bed and desk/work space, a bathroom and a separate bedroom with luxury king size bed. The space Situated in the heart of the beautiful Bride Valley just 6 miles from the lively market town of Bridport, a 40 minute walk or 10 minute drive to Chesil Beach and close to the many ancient monuments dotting the area, it’s a perfect center for walkers and cyclists the year round. On cooler days the large yet cosy interior is a perfect retreat. As we have a dog and a cat and sheep graze regularly in the paddock, its garden and surrounding lawn area are fenced to provide a secure play area for well behaved dogs. This is a great centre for exploring the Jurassic Coast, situatied midway between Weymouth and Lyme Regis. Hive beach and the Hive Beach cafe are a 10 minute drive away, with huge golden cliffs and family friendly atmosphere. You can walk to Chesyl beach in 45 minutes. Local West Bay is very sweet for fish and chips on the harbor. Eype is a stunning beach 20 mins away, and further afield you can explore Portland Bill, Durdle Door and Lyme Regis. There are many stunning footpaths close by. Our nearest town is Bridport with lovely Wednesday and Saturday markets, interesting vintage quarter and shops, restaurants, arts centre and cinema. Several local pubs near by. Also outstanding restaurant and bar 10 minute drive away is The Parlour, offering indoor and outdoor dining. We are in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a designated cycling area. Guest access You will have access to the carpark, the path and the Retreat with its terrace and enclosure. Other things to note The bathroom has a compost toilet. It is brand new and of modern design.
