Other things to note Nearby Attractions (all within 15 miles) Assateague Parks: these two parks are adjacent to each other – follow the signs. You can see the wild horses on the road in either the parks and anywhere between or not because wild horses are unpredictable. Wild horses mean business – use care with photo ops as they can charge. No open food containers on the beach. Assateague Island National Park: – As pretty and peaceful as you can imagine. Plenty of room to spread out. Also, toilets, outdoor showers, lifeguards in season. They check IDs now so you can’t use someone else’s national park pass unless they are in the car with you with photo ID. The entry fee is $25 entry fee (daily/a week.) Better yet spring for an annual pass for $45. Entry lines can be VERY long so time your arrival departures accordingly. There is Off Road beach access at the south end of the park. Canoe, kayak, bike rentals and lovely scenic walking trails marked on the bay side. Assateague Maryland State Park: Public beach with decent showers, changing rooms and toilets. Snack bar in-season. I would choose this over Ocean City beach any time but the national park over the state park if I have time to make the extra 3 mile 25 mph single lane drive. Entry fee $5 per car or honor donation box. Ocean City Maryland beach: Several paid municipal parking lots – use app. There’s a trolley to take you along the boardwalk. Ocean Pines has its own private Beach Club, swimming pool and restaurant between 49 and 50th streets. Open from 10 AM to 6 PM. The parking is not free so try your luck on the street. The beach is public access but the pool and club are exclusive to OP residents. Day pass for pool/s is $10 resident/$15 non-residents for adults $8 and $13 for kids under 18. See map for other pools and amenities available in Ocean Pines for a fee. Ocean City Board Walk, Amusement Park and first Fridays at the Art League. Interesting Small historic Life Saving Museum. North Park drone “firework” shows free and fun most Sunday nights. Berlin: Best Little Town in America. Great architecture, artsy shops, galleries, restaurants and outdoor concerts in season. Runaway Bride was filmed there. It radiates charm lots of cute shops, restaurants and music venues. Must try Island Creamery treats! Windmill Creek Vineyard: Very close to North Gate.
