Boathouse with fireplace, sauna & jetty near Gothenburg

Relax in this unique and tranquil accommodation with the lake and nature right on your doorstep. The space Welcome to our lake cottage "Båthuset" with sauna and terrace adjacent to the jetty for early and late summer swimming or why not try winter swimming. Access is available to canoe (a Canadian and a kayak). Båthuset is located by Västra Nedsjön with a 4-minute walk to the train/bus that takes about 30 minutes to Gothenburg with stops at Liseberg Station and Central Station or the other way about 30 minutes to central Borås. Västra Nedsjön is connected to Östra Nedsjön with an old, very nice canal that is popular for paddling. In Båthuset, we have focused on the practical and cozy when we designed the house of about 50 sqm. Heated slate tiles welcome you when you enter. Directly to the left, you have the sauna. Then comes the stairs/steps to the approximately 5 sqm loft where you spend your nights together with the air conditioning. During the warm and bright summer nights, you can pull the drapes to keep it dark and at the perfect temperature. There is also a sofa bed to choose from as the loft stairs can be a little difficult to climb. The bathroom also has heated slate clinker and shower cabin, wall-mounted toilet and stylish decor. The kitchenette is equipped with an induction stove, carbon filter fan, combi oven (hot air and microwave) and a Smeg fridge. Next to the kitchen is the fireplace that in autumn/winter "puts the soul" in the house. The main part of the living room has a black-colored wooden floor of Swedish spruce, white-painted wood and stone walls. White slat curtains for the large folding glass sections. Outside, there is a wooden terrace with a barbecue and an outdoor fireplace. The outdoor stove is nice to light after visiting Liseberg amusement park, shopping, restaurant, after a canoe trip, swimming in the lake or cross-country skiing. Below the wooden terrace is the jetty with a bathing ladder that you have free access to. Hindås had a positive development due to tourism in the 1940s and onwards, which resulted in 14 hotels and boarding houses as a refuge for Gothenburg's stressed and wealthy people. During the summer, these people needed Hindås refreshing high air, beautiful nature and wonderful swimming in the clean Western and Eastern Nedsjöarna (Gothenburg takes its drinking water from our lakes). In winter, on weekends, there was a special sports train with ski holders outside the train from Gothenburg to Hindås for weekend relaxation in ski trails and slopes. In the robust, warm 40s hotels and guesthouses, traditional sweet punch was served as après-ski. We always have ski trails on the ice if the lake allows it. Nowadays, there are also snow cannons for the cross-country trails. - Before the advent of electric freezers, Hindås, due to its location at high altitude, 125 meters above sea level and the cold winter weather, was an important supplier of ice to Gothenburg's all restaurants, fish halls and well-to-do homes, etc. The mounts for the "ice winches" are still on several rocks around the lake. Spread: Vildmarksleden (Skogsmaran) 42 km + Sjuhäradsleden 100 km = Ultra-marathon -42km trail track for running, hiking or biking runs between Hindås and Gothenburg. Here, "Skogsmaran" is organized every late summer, where there is the possibility of 42 km trail running or hiking or 22 km running or hiking. - Sjuhäradsleden begins where Vildmarksleden ends; from Hindås to Mullsjö through Borås and Ulricemamn. Why not hike or bike from Gothenburg and spend a couple of nights in Hindås and then move on or go back? Ski & Exercise trails - It is close to the exercise trails; 2.5 km of illuminated trails and other trails up to 10 km. During the winter, ski trails are made in both existing exercise trails and on the ice of Västra Nedsjön. Snow cannons are available and are run diligently run by the dedicated local ski club. Sport fishing - In Västra and Östra Nedsjön, there is plenty of fish, fishing licenses can be purchased online. In Östra Nedsjön, which is over 100 meters deep, there is still said to be real Arctic char. It is considered the southernmost population in Scandinavia. Sport fishing takes place in the summer from boats, beaches and piers and in the winter as ice fishing (drilled holes in the ice). Tennis 2 indoor and 1 outdoor court can be booked at Hindås Tennis Club Paddling 1 Canadian and 1 Kayak are available Provisions A medium-sized but very well-stocked grocery store is about a 5-minute walk away, ICA Hindås. Miscellaneous - Free parking, if you come by plane it is about 12 minutes from Landvetter airport by Taxi/Uber or similar - Canoes are available (1 Canadian & 1 kayak, life jackets are also available) - Furnished patio about 30 sqm; outdoor fireplace and barbecue (firewood, charcoal and lighter available) -Summer: Access to dock with swimming ladder (adjacent to the patio) -Winter: Of course, we try to keep the hole in the ice open for the morning swim. The long ski slope is laid on the ice directly outside the house. The ski club is struggling to get as much snow as possible in the tracks so that they last long after the natural snow melts away.
