Relax with the family on this peaceful country-side hill in Dubois, Indiana. 17 minutes to Jasper and 17 minutes to French Lick. Patoka Lake is nearby, as well as attractions like Holiday World in Santa Claus, West Baden Casino & Resort, Big Splash, indoor karting, mini-golf, and small-town restaurants. You'll find necessities nearby, including a Walmart. We always have fresh, multicolored eggs to sell from our chickens who are also fed organically. The space Decor is still in the works, but furnishings have a homey, rustic style. Guest access Guests may access two gravel parking spaces and all of the guest house. You are welcome to also enjoy the yard. Please ask to use fire pit. Main house and front patio is not for guest use. Other things to note Be mindful that we do have a septic system with our home. This means that chemicals can not be poured down drains, and we do not have garbage disposals in our kitchen sinks. A drain cover will be provided to prevent food going down the drain. Throw away all un-eaten food. Garbage bags will be collected and stored in our storage room. We usually take all garbage out on Saturdays. For privacy, you may leave your trash bags tied outside of your room and we will collect it for you. Phone service may be spotty. We use Wi-fi calling, and it works well. You just have to make sure to connect right away to our Wi-fi. Also PLEASE BE ADVISED due to the rural, wooded location, that certain OUTDOOR pests like flees and TICKS may be present. regardless of the preventative pest management practices that we utilize, it is impossible to guaruntee that no ticks can be picked up and brought inside. If you go outside in the yard, you will want to check your body, hair and especially PETS for ticks. Unfortunately, in the event of severe weather, such as tornadoes, we currently do NOT have a storm shelter on site.
