Relax around a fire & float down the river to cabin from launch upriver. <1mi to full-rec Shakey Lakes park & beach. 1000's of acres of public land to hunt & hike. 25 min to Four Seasons Resort & Golf. ATV trails at the end of driveway! The space ***Sleeps up to 6. 2 bedrooms and loft, totaling 4 beds (1 queen, 3 twin), and a couch. ***Gas stove with microwave and fridge. LARGE stone fireplace to relax around w/firewood provided. ***Sit down shower tub. ***Gently sloped ground to river (approx. ~30-degree slope, no stairs) and fire pit set up with great views up/down river. ***Antenna TV (w/limited channels) & DVD player. ***On a stretch of river known for its fishing (featured on episode of "Meat Eater: Dos Boat") and remote access. Launch from ~4 miles upstream in the boats/kayaks and fish & float back downstream to cabin. ***Lazy river launch from 2.5 miles upriver and float & relax back to cabin for a ~3-hour float (adult mountain bike is onsite to ride back to get vehicle) Guest access ***Bring water shoes & towels***, and any extra proper safety equipment if you plan to be on the water! ATV trials start at end of driveway, (use on property only permitted on driveway). Cruise up to the Four Seasons Resort for dinner & drinks or explore the ATV trails on the 1000's of acres of public land. 2 canoes, 2 kayaks, paddles, floating tubes, & several life vests supplied onsite. Modest fishing poles & equipment available for use as well. Med-Large charcoal grill onsite. Other things to note - Adequate supply of firewood for evening & night fires provided. - Fishing poles and limited lures/equip available. - 17' aluminum & 17’ plastic Coleman canoes available onsite for use. The Coleman canoe has a small transom to set up trolling motor (motor not provided). - 2 kayaks available onsite for use. - Some floatation vests and floating tubes available (host cannot ensure day-to-day proper functioning of life vests & floating tubes, guests to test and use at own risk). Launch from boat launches 2.5 miles or 4 miles upriver on Michigan side of river. - Bath contains a "sit down" shower tub w/a shower wand. There is a 25 gallon hot water heater on site which works great, but is not ideal for several consecutive showers or consecutive full baths (its a rustic log cabin, not a Hilton!) - Two twin beds are in loft accessed by ladder - Fans and a portable AC box unit on site, if needed - TP rolls & some rolls of paper towels provided - Kitchenware, coffee maker, toaster, etc provided onsite - Walk down slope to rivers edge is a slight ~30 degree decline, but river water level changes (+/-) 4 feet so it can vary slightly - DeYoung Family Zoo ~20 min drive (as seen on NatGeoWild show "My Life is a Zoo" - Four Seasons Resort ~25 min drive - Grocery store & Gas Station ~15 min drive - Full-Recreational Shakey Lakes County Park and Beach ~5 min drive
