Built in 1860, The Emerald Roof is a historic home that provides a comfortable getaway near downtown Frederick. The house is decorated to reflect the city's rich history but comes equipped with modern amenities. The walk to downtown is about 10-15 minutes, and less than a 5 minute drive. The driveway can park 4 vehicles and there is ample street parking right in front of the house. The house is also centrally located to other historic sites and retail stores. The space Guests has access to whole house, except for the cellar and the attic. This house is baby and pet-friendly, and has a large back yard great for outdoor fun. On the first floor, there is a foyer that connects to the living room and dining room. The living room comes equipped with a modern smart TV, books to read and board games to play. There is also a study table for guests who may need to work during their stay. The dinning room comfortably seats 6 but chairs from the kitchen can add an additional 3 seats if needed. There is also a half bath in the dinning room. On the second floor, there are 4 bedrooms. In total there are 8 beds (2 queen beds, 2 twin beds, 1 day bed and 1 trundle bed). Each bedroom is themed and uniquely decorated, so guest are encouraged to check out each room before settling in for their stay. The upstairs also has the large full bathroom, stocked with amenities. Right outside the bathroom there is a linen room stocked with plenty of body towels, hand towels and face towels. The house also has a wrap around balcony that lights up at night. There is seating for 4 on the balcony and it overlooks the beautiful garden below. Speaking of which, the garden on the ground level also has plenty of seating. There is a set of wicker seating and a wood dinning table with 4 chairs. There is plenty of parking, 4 cars can fit in the driveway. There is also plenty of street parking, conveniently located in front of the house. Guest access As mentioned above, guests have access to the whole house except the cellar and the attic. There are two doors that can be used to access the house. The doors are accessed by a 5 digit code that will be given to guests before their arrival. Guest can access the front door that enters into the foyer, or the back door that enters into the kitchen. Along with the code access, each door has their own dead bolts for additional security once guests have settled inside. Other things to note While the house was built over a hundred years ago, the house is equipped with modern amenities for a comfortable stay. There is high speed internet, along with charging stations for multiple devices. For guests who like to cook, the kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans and a new electric stove top oven. In the summer months, the house is equipped with AC units so guest can remain cool and comfortable. In the colder months the house is heated by radiators that provides a comfortable steam heat.
