6–8 guests · 2.5 bedrooms · 6 single/ 1 king · 1.5 baths Tucked away on 10 rugged coastal acres, The Nest is a quietly elevated oceanfront hideaway overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Thoughtfully designed and set among the treetops, the house offers uninterrupted views, sea air, and a deep sense of calm. Arrive, exhale, and slow down as waves roll in and eagles occasionally glide past. The space The house is individually furnished and thoughtfully equipped with everything needed for a relaxed and comfortable stay. Sleeping arrangements: The Nest offers two bedrooms and an open gallery sleeping area. One bedroom on the ground floor features high ceilings, allowing for four built-in bunk beds suitable for both children and adults. Each bunk is fitted with a twin-size mattress, creating a practical yet comfortable space for families or small groups. The second private bedroom is located on the first floor and features a king-size bed and a private terrace nestled among the trees, with views reaching all the way to the Atlantic. Enjoy your morning coffee on the terrace or take in the ocean view directly from bed through the large windows. The open gallery sleeping area includes two additional twin-size beds. Bathrooms & laundry: The main bathroom on the ground floor includes a bathtub. Just next to it is a smaller two-piece bathroom, which also houses the washer and dryer. Even the occasional sea fog becomes part of the atmosphere, adding to the unique coastal experience. Every season in Nova Scotia has its own quiet charm. The gallery level also offers a quiet retreat, with a small writing desk, reading chair and soft lighting; when the beds are not in use, it easily transforms into a cozy daybed-style sitting area for reading, writing, or simply enjoying some time to yourself. Kitchen: The fully equipped open-concept kitchen allows you to prepare meals for the whole family with ease. Multiple coffee options are available, including a French press and an barista espresso maker. In the evenings, the cast iron wood-burning stove creates a warm and cozy atmosphere in the entire house. Outdoor areas: The large deck offers plenty of seating for relaxing or dining outdoors. Unwind on the outdoor bean bags or enjoy meals at the wooden picnic table. A gas barbecue is available for grilling meats and vegetables. During lobster season in May, you may even have the opportunity to purchase fresh lobster straight from the boat. A covered terrace just outside the kitchen provides shelter on windier days. Guest access The guests can enjoy the entire house and adventure around the grounds. Other things to note The coastal stretch between Sherbrooke and Port Bickerton is wonderfully remote — ideal for those seeking time away from the pace and noise of city life. The open design of the house mirrors its peaceful setting, while large windows flood the space with natural light and create a strong sense of openness and connection to the landscape. Perhaps not unlike a bird in its nest, you can sit back and enjoy the expansive views and the quiet rhythm of nature. Explore the property and its surroundings at your own pace. A short walk leads down to the rugged shoreline at the edge of the land, perfect for clamming, collecting pebbles, or simply spending time by the water. For an easy stroll directly from the house, follow the gravel road to the pebble beach on the Artinsula Peninsula. Families may also enjoy the sandy beach in Port Hilford, just a five-minute drive away. Close by A wonderful small organic vegetable farm, Forgotten Shore Farm, is only a three-minute drive away. The nearest supermarket and liquor store can be found in Sherbrooke (approximately 25 minutes), while Antigonish, about 50 minutes away, offers a wider selection of shops and services. Good to know & local highlights The Nest is located in a remote, natural setting — we recommend bringing mosquito repellent during May, June, July. The house has mosquito screens installed.
