Everything is on your doorstep! Walkable is the Square and Compass, The Kings Arms in Langton, Dancing Ledge, Seacombe, Chapmans Pool, Dinosaur Footprints, The South West Coast Path, Swanage and Studland Beaches. The space Cosy Quarryman’s Cottage Sea View • Wood Burner • Dog Friendly Escape to a small, cosy 18th-century former quarryman’s cottage, built from beautiful Purbeck stone and tucked away in a quiet rural hamlet 10 minutes’ walk from the South West Coast Path. Full of rustic charm and character, it’s the perfect hideaway for two – and up to two dogs. 🪵 Warm & Welcoming Living Space The cottage is compact and cosy, with a snug lounge area featuring a wood and coal burner (coal provided) and a single electric radiator on a timer for additional warmth. Perfect for curling up after a day out exploring on a large comfortable sofa, smart TV and dining table. 🍽️ Well-Equipped Kitchen The handmade oak kitchen includes everything you need to cook at home – with an oven, hob, fridge, and full-size dishwasher. A separate boot/utility room provides a washing machine, small freezer, and space to store bikes, coats, boots, and luggage. 🌀 Please Note: A steep spiral wooden staircase leads to the upstairs. This may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility. 🛏️ Super-King Bedroom with Sea View Upstairs, a bright bedroom awaits with a luxurious super-king bed and sea glimpses – the perfect spot to relax and recharge. Soft, high-quality linens and towels are provided for a restful stay. 🚿 Modern Shower Room Also upstairs is a compact shower room with an electric shower – great for freshening up after a coastal hike or beach day. Secluded Courtyard Garden Outside, enjoy a peaceful, private sunny courtyard garden with zero light pollution – perfect for al fresco meals, a morning coffee, or stargazing under clear night skies. A truly relaxing outdoor space which is dog freindly and secure. 🐾 Dog-Friendly Stay The secure garden and nearby walking routes make it ideal for dogs. We welcome one large or two small dogs. All the fields in Acton allow dog's to run free if there are no sheep or cow's in them. 🚶♀️ Walkers' Paradise Just a 10-minute walk to the South West Coast Path, this cottage is a wonderful base for discovering the dramatic Purbeck coastline, clifftop walks, quiet coves, and rolling countryside. Whether you're here to explore or simply unwind, this is Dorset at its best. PUBS The Square and Compass is a 20 minute walk or the Kings Arms is 10 minutes. Heating The primary source of heating is a cozy multi-fuel burner (coal supplied), creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. In addition, two radiators on timers provide supplementary heat for extra comfort. Guest access All of the cottage and courtyard garden (enclosed) Other things to note Please be aware the stairs are very steep and not suitable for those with mobility issues Acton is a rural hamlet and after entering the village its a track, not a road which in areas is bumpy. The cottage is heated primarily with a wood/coal burner, fuel is provided. Electric heaters are on timer for a background heat only. No candles are allowed in the cottage and no four legged friends upstairs. The Cottage is not suitable for infants due to the stairs. No EV Charging (Sorry).
