Comfy Waterfront Creek Shack

Recharge in this gem of a hideout perched on the creek bank above the deep swimming hole. A simple approach to comfort provides undercover alfresco dining areas, air conditioned sleeping rooms, a bathroom with all the basics and lots of outdoor spaces. At days end the background sounds of the rippling creek and a chorus of birdcalls settle you into this rustic, bushland shack. Dawn welcomes you and surprises you with a large mob of wallabies and a curfew of curlews reclining out front. The space The comfortable timber Shack shares a private bushland retreat with a number of other dwellings within Hinchinbrook Hideaway which is situated on Five Mile Creek. Nestled amongst trees and perched above the deep swimming hole, this is a little like camping undercover with a fire pit, barbecue and lots of screens and fresh air. Snuggle into the Queen bed and drift into sleep with the soothing sounds of flowing, murmuring water. Suitable for a couple who enjoy the outdoors, there is a small double futon in the 2nd bedroom for a child or two. The mango orchard and exotic orchard are delightful additions to the country setting. Although a dog may be allowed subject to our approval, we must protect the endangered cassowary and our other local wildlife, and this is our priority. Guest access Guest are welcome to explore the creek, walking tracks and orchards and the shared pavilion overlooking the swimming hole. Other things to note The comfy Creek Shack at Hinchinbrook Hideaway is only about 10 minutes drive south of the pretty little seaside town of Cardwell. Cardwell has some great spots for coffee, fish and chips, good restaurants, an IGA, Bendigo Bank, Doctor, Post Office etc. Keen fisher persons will find boat ramps, bait supplies and tourist information. There is an all weather gravel road into the property which is suitable for all vehicle types.
